Thanks LT. I'm glad I'm not letting fear dictate me taking care of my body anymore. My mammogram is scheduled for Thursday at 4. My Mom was going to go with me but she'll be out of town. So I have to be a big girl and go by myself!

I usually feel like an adolescent even though I am an adult. So it is good that I am feeling grown up about this stuff. Although my mind, emotions, and body haven't all caught up to one another! Former T said it's okay because when you age after you are already that age then you can gain years in months instead of years in years. So even though I feel like I'm 20, I can gain 4 or 5 years in 4 or 5 months instead of it taking the actual physical length of a year. I hope that makes sense. It made sense when she said it but she said it clearer.

I had forgotten all about artist's dates. I totally need to take myself on one SOON!

It's definitely schaudenfreude! Alonzo Ribiero is host now, and i think his picture is in the dictionary under cringe. I almost never miss it.

But she won't sit with me any other time of the day. She has come a long way with socialization and I'm really glad I adopted her.
Definitely agreeing with you seeing if the shelter can match you with a lap cat.

None of the 3 I live with are lap cats, while a friend's newly adopted stray loves climbing onto his lap.

One has chosen me and will meow non stop for affection, but won't get on my lap. Another is really skittish but my friend can carry her in her arms. The 3rd likes trying to sneak into my room as a game but prefers to go nap on my friend's bed.

Do you like audiobooks? I play them whilst I'm in bed and my app has a sleep function, so you can pick how long you want it run before it turns off by itself. It's also easy to go back to where you were before you fell asleep to.

Hello everyone. It’s been quite awhile since I’ve been here. I have a lot to catch up on and a lot to catch you all up on. I’m completely out of my element right now but the couch is always “home”...
So I guess I’ll post the short version of what’s been happening:

1. Work- If anyone recalls the job with the little boy who was diagnosed ADHD and ODD and put on medication-it was a challenge with lots of dose and medication changes to get it right-eventually things settled and of course in Sept. we did virtual schooling, ended up creating an unbreakable bond and things changed dramatically. In January the family moved into a bigger house-same town so nothing changed on my end except moms attitude towards me got sour. I had a feeling the expenses became too much-though I asked straight out when they bought the house what is my demise and they said no change. Unsurprisingly in April I was fired. (The reason is too much to get into right now) 24 days later with a lot of people from that town backing me-I landed another job. However, I’m about to quit because new employers are backpedaling on some things but I have something else already lined up.

2-Pandemic- I never got covid-unless I did and just was an a-symptomatic carrier? I don’t know. However I’m fully vaccinated at my choice and during the lockdown I lost a total of 40lbs simply by old fashion calorie counting and now in healthy BMI and I plan to keep it that way. I didn’t realize how easy it could be. If I craved something-I had a little of it. I just didn’t do it again the next day, but for the most part I kept my options healthy.

3. Sisters Divorce- The actual “fight” is over. She got 60% custody he got 40%. The lawyer told her to take it and run because judges in NJ rarely award one parent more. It’s almost always equal. All the other aspects are also square. They are just waiting to be “officially” divorced. No one knows how long that could take-it’s not on the top of any judges list. The important thing is that everyone sort of chilled out I guess by this point-they are cordial with each other for the sake of the child and that’s it.

4. I think that just about wraps it up. I never got back into therapy-I don’t plan to get back into therapy, but I maintain being on medication because as much as I hate to admit it-Big Pharma helps keep me more even keel I guess. There is a whole lot more to go with this-more detail, but for now I said I would try to give a short version. Plus I’m really tired. We are having crappy weather in these parts-it’s rainy and chilly. Doesn’t feel like spring at all.

And now to go back and read a bit to see if I can piece together what has been going on with some of you. I’ll have to sign off shortly though, but I’ll be back again.
