I think your friend won't know until she tries it for herself. So tell her to give it a go.

Scottish shortbread is also THE best. It's my standard gift.

I have a plant that I've looked after ever since it was teeny. It was sunny so I put her outside on the flat window sill like I've done ,many times before, but I forgot to bring her in. I looked for her this morning but she had fallen down two floors down. Guess it must have been windy. Someone outside had at least put her upright in the corner, but she's very damaged and floppy.

Do you keep a journal maybe that would help with the delayed feelings?

Hope you get sometime just for yourself in between all of that.

She will recover! Can you take a cutting to grow a new plant, just in case? That way she will carry on in a new life.

I hope so! I'll watch a youtube video about that as I've never done that before.

I will also be leaving soon as I'm done with my last exam. I live 6 hours away from home and always travel by plane whenever I go back. I was thinking of taking her to the park and secretly planting her near the river somewhere where she won't be trampled on.

My friend killed her cactus plant.

Dammit, Chihiro. I'm so sorry to hear that.

I hope you are able to get some rest somehow.

My therapy homework is to have fun and relax ALONE, including reading fiction, listening to music, playing a videogame.

Hard, seriously. Probably why I'm still not recovered from that burnout.

My son and his gf gave me a succulent in a little planter that he made in his 3D printer. I killed it - didn't think at all and burned a candle near it I guess the candle stole something from the air that the plant needed, or something. Huh, I thought there was a shrug emoji but i can't find it. Not awake yet. haha. I am going to plant something else in it and put it somewhere i don't burn candles...

Speaking of 3D printers. I'm still amazed that technology even exists, let alone in a small-sized one being in a price range a normal human could afford. My son has a desktop one. He's made all kinds of things in it. It's pretty cool.

Ugghhhh...A concert I was supposed to go to in September 2020 that was rescheduled for this September...has now been rescheduled for 2022. It was an outdoor venue, so I felt like it was safe (considering I'd been vaccinated), and it was something I was really looking forward to. But now that's gone... Meanwhile, indoor concerts are being scheduled in my area, so why did this have to be canceled? Yes, they are British artists, but still...

And the email is like "good news!" No, it's not...

I'm sorry to hear that, LT. That seems a little extreme, as restrictions are supposed to ease here in a few weeks.

Thanks, Lost. It does seem premature for them to cancel now. Numbers in my county (also where the concert is) are quite low right now. I wish they'd at least waited another month or so to decide?

I feel it all plays into my "some things are back to normal but other things very much not so." Like, I'm outside at a restaurant having lunch right now. My parents watched my D at their house over the weekend (they didn't go out anywhere) for the first time in more than a year. And H and I actually had a date night, but stayed outside at places.

Yet, Dr. T is still virtual. Concerts are being canceled. So still not normal...

HUGS LT, sorry about the concert. I know it is hard to look forward to something and then have it snatched away.

See Pdoc tomorrow virtually. I moved the appointment up a month and now I am second guessing myself and thinking I could have waited. Oh well. I'll just suck it up and do the appointment. Besides, case manager Kayla wanted me seen sooner.

Over the weekend I filled out an application for the Animal Shelter to possibly adopt a new cat. I specifically said on the application that I am looking for a lap cat. My Dad said he would drop off the application for me at the shelter. I know it is kind of soon from when Esther passed but I am missing the cat snuggles and cat cuddles.

My T, Dr. K, said if I wanted to talk to him in between sessions to write him a letter (obviously not send it) and it would be like I was talking to him. I wasn't even asking about outside contact so I thought it was odd that he would say that. Anyway I tried it and got as far as Dear Dr. K.

But it's about people's risk-tolerance levels right now, it's not really about normal. No one can decree a universal normal. All of us have to find our own way. I'm comfortable eating inside at a restaurant, you're comfortable at a restaurant outside, someone else is not at all comfortable. Info was doing in-person sessions again in February and even did them last fall before her husband died, other therapists aren't. The Starbucks up the street from my mother is letting customers sit inside, but the McDonald's next to it isn't.

My summer Y lifted mask mandates for the vaccinated when the state lifted their mandate, and some people ditched them right off. I don't feel quite ready for that yet, but I'm getting closer.

I guess what I'm saying is it's not so much about getting back to normal in this phase of the pandemic, right now it's about tolerating the fact that other people have different risk tolerances than we do.
