I don't like people touching my laundry or any of my belongings. Or even standing in my room doorway.

When I visit my partner, I happily add his laundry to the washing machine but I insist on being the one to unload the washing machine and we hang up our own clothes to air dry.

But I'm weird - it comes from parents and perpetrator brother basically deep searching my room, trash, recycling when I wasn't around (I couldn't lock the door).

Now that I've moved out, I've learned it's ok if my friend hands me clothing I accidentally left in the washing machine. And I'm fine with sleeping with the door closed but not locked, at long last. She also doesn't hammer non stop on the door until I open it. She just knocks for a while then goes away if I don't respond.

When i was living at my mom's in my dotage, i did our laundry separately. She complained i used too much bleach and wrecked the elastic on her undies, but hey if i was gonna fold 'em after i washed them, darn straight i used a lot of bleach! Im an excellent folder.

They also do not have a dashboard telling us what percentage of students are vaccinated (versus what percentage took advantage of the medical or religious exemption) or what percentage of faculty and staff are vaccinated. The former dashboard has been made a requirement from our Governor, I believe.

Way behind the curve on it this go round.

I put a statement in my syllabi that students will be masked in my classroom... and my chair wants me to go even further! She wants me to go back to Zoom classes! I don't mind doing 100% of students on Zoom, that's fine. But having half in person and half on Zoom is awful... it is twice the work, during that class time, and my attention is split. Yuck.

When I went to the imaging center yesterday for my appointment, they checked me in. Then they called me up and said the machine had broken again. I was like, are you kidding me? So they asked me to sit down and wait and a tech would be out to talk to me. So I sat down and waited maybe 15 minutes. A tech came and got me. They sat me down and explained what was going on with the machine and did I want to try to get the images? I was like, heck yeah, I'm here, let's do it. So it took some manipulating and two technicians but they took the images. Then I went across the hall and had the ultrasound done. The ultrasound tech volunteered some good information. So finally this saga can be closed. I just have to wait for the doctor's report. Which I imagine they will send to my Primary Care Provider who might get around to telling me the results. Last time she didn't. It was the imaging center calling me asking me why I hadn't made an appointment yet. No, they didn't call, they sent a letter, that's right. Otherwise I never would have known!!

What a mess, Kit. I am glad they managed to get some images, and hope that the doctor's report comes back without adding another chapter to this saga. Sending gentle hugs.

I think I understand, @@. Even though you know they're being well cared for, you miss them.

And then maybe you feel wrong, somehow, on top of everything? Like you're wrong for missing them because isn't it for the best that they're keeping your mom company and how can you be so selfish to not want the best for your mom? (Maybe this isn't you, but that is how my mind works... feelings ABOUT the feelings.)

In any case, it's okay to just let the feelings happen. Take care of yourself, whatever that looks like for you.

My cat, Jean Luc Purrcard, went missing last Thursday night. I'm having new siding, windows, and doors installed on my house. They had installed a new basement door, but no doorknob or deadbolt yet. Well, it came open a bit during the night and he traipsed off to explore.

I've notified the local vets, the animal shelter, Animal Control, posted in two local Facebook groups and my page with lots of sharing from all of these places... and still no sign of him. One lady did see a cat that looked like him about 1.5 miles from here, but upon further investigation it wasn't him.

He had lived on the streets for a little while as a kitten, so I hope he's okay. But my previous cat, Manilow, got out when I first moved in and he never came back and was never found. I'm very worried that the same thing is going to happen to Jean Luc.

Here is a picture of him sneezing.

HUGS @MobiusPsyche I hope you find your kitty. Not that this is helpful now, but I have a GPS collar on Amelia except when it needs to be charged. She tends to wander the neighborhood and I like to keep tabs on her. The collar itself wasn't that expensive, about $50 and the subscription for two years IIRC was around $130. I hope your kitty is okay. HUGS Kit

Oh Mobius that's scary. I hope Jean Luc comes home soon. When my Penny escaped the backyard recently I was already panicking and I found her on the front porch quickly that time. The last time we couldn't find her, I was convinced she was gone forever but then we did finally find her. She's a feral rescue so she lived on the street as a little kitten too so that does give a little reassurance, anyway.

I am going to look into one of those for Penny in case she gets out again. Not sure she'd ever let us put it on her but... if we could get it on her, it would be helpful if she gets out again. There's empty desert near here on the other side of the train tracks so I would really worry if she made her way that far.

The slippers for BIL are coming along quickly. Chat has been so slow this week that I'm almost done with hexagon 9 of 12 already. Looks like I'll have enough of this color left to finish them, as long as I use a different color to assemble them with. Deciding between a light tan color or black for assembly - they are single crocheted together, so the seams show.

Hugs, Kit. At least they still did the test. I may have asked you this before, but is it Advanced Radiology by any chance? If so, they have their own patient portal, and they post the report there within a week after the test (they have to send it to your doctor first, but that doesn't mean the doctor will read/look at it before they post it on your portal).

No it's through someone else. I think there is some kind of portal, I have been trying to remember it since yesterday. If I can remember how to get into it I might be able to get the report. I know there's one for my laboratory so I might be getting that confused with my doctor's office.

I spent most of today crying and trying to sort out my accommodation. The only reason they want me to move out is because the new person moving in specifically wants to be in with the person I have been sharing a bathroom with for the past two years (whose name I don't even know). I initially agreed but honestly having spent this morning washing all of my piled up clothing first thing so i could get a stupid machine in the basement, then donating three large bags of items and trying to move all of my stuff and clean has been so incredibly stressful.

My other mother Ronnie was a CPS lawyer and she said to ***** that. She drafted me an email to send to the accommodation manager which I did.

That's ridiculous of them to tell you you have to move for something like that! Seems to me they have no right to inconvenience you just because of what somebody else thinks they deserve. You already live there, I would think that gives you some rights. I hope the email gets results and you don't have to move if you don't want to. And if you do still have to, then I think they should compensate you somehow with free rent for a couple months, or upgrades in the new place, or something!

Thank you for understanding.

I did originally tell them that I would be leaving before , but my last exam didn't go as planned.

Our county Covid rates are going up, so I reached out to Dr. T to see if we're still meeting in person tomorrow and also to make sure (as I'd started getting anxious) that he was OK with still working together after what I'd shared yesterday. He replied very quickly for a daytime email (an hour later) and said his usual "all is well" with him in working with me. (I'd mentioned managing to wait 24 hours to email him, and he praised me on that.)

He said we'd meet in person tomorrow, but unless things suddenly change, he'll be going back to virtual next week. He said how he was sorry and knew I'd be disappointed, but he didn't feel comfortable continuing in person with the current infection rates (we don't wear masks in the office, and he's not open to wearing them). He said how he was discouraged as well, and that helped to hear. So I'm sad about it, but understand and am glad I'll still see him in person tomorrow.
