Okay, I knew handball was an Olympic sport—but beach handball? What about handball says “beach”?

Hah — I learned today that my mean attending from last week is in a heap of trouble for being outrageously mean to a resident a few days ago. Not happy that the poor resident was in the receiving end of her wrath, of course, but glad that Dr. Meanie is facing some consequences.

This guy rides up the strert all the time and just begore they pulled him i did nt see anything unusual inthe way he was riding but they were inspecting bike. They have been questioning about the cash he has he looked to have about $100 on him which is not an nreasonable amount to carry i am so worked up about police harrassment.

I think they're just trying to come up with sports at this point, so mixing two sports together. Like the canoe slalom that I watched a bit of the other day.

Any excuse to get women athletes into bikinis.

It will be beach weightlifting next.

Holy f... a friend of mine in the USA texted me. She accessed a patient portal as she got access today for the first time, and it turns out no one told her she had "a history of stroke" and that her liver is failing. Her current doctor isn't in network and had been considering autoimmune diseases. Hopefully she can send the relevant info to her doctor and get the medical help she needs.

How the f can doctors NOT tell people important stuff like this?!

Is it possible they've just got the wrong info for her? Wouldn't you know if you'd had a stroke?

ETA my ex was a Jr. and they got his and his dad's medical records mixed up more than once.

QM i have a common name and my patient portal often asks me which of ten addresses. Your friend would for sure know if they had a history of stroke. I would bet its a data entry error - wrong person's records.

I agree with the other that your friend would most likely know if she had a history of stroke. And if her liver is failing, then whatever doctor who ordered tests that showed that should have let her know. I think it's more likely that there's some sort of clerical error, like putting another patient's info in, or perhaps (in the case of stroke), someone clicking the wrong button doing data entry in the chart.

Does other information in there seem accurate? Like is there some medical issue or procedure she experienced that is NOT in the chart? Or is any personal information wrong? She should definitely contact whichever doctor's office would have entered the information to find out what's going on.

Well this disposable heat pad from a pharmacy is not helping much.

Something is wrong that I'm having bothersome period pain despite 1000mg paracetamol (Tylenol in USA) and 400 mg ibuprofen (Naproxen/Aleve in USA) every 4 hours...?

I was skeptical. Surely LT is pulling my leg, I thought. Canoe slalom? What in the world? Nope, they actually awarded medals Couch 230: Decent Communications for such a thing.

I'm not interested in the Olympics generally, but this is absurd. I really want them to include esports, now! Why is bowling not in there? Where is cricket? And golf? I don't follow any of these, but millions of people do! At best, there are fifty thousand people in the world who even know about canoe slaloming.

Yeah, when I turned on the canoe slalom, I was like, "What am I watching right now?" I do think things like bowling, golf, and cricket make sense. Baseball had been removed from the Olympics but was brought back this year.

Maybe they're just trying things to see what people watch? I mean, curling became a big thing in the Winter Olympics, and honestly, that seems sort of random. Oh, maybe they could add regular shuffleboard? And the tabletop kind they have in bars? Croquet? Cornhole/bean bag toss? Dodgeball? Ultimate Frisbee? (this is when someone tells me one or more of those is already in the Olympics...)

I’m old enough to remember when tennis was not an Olympic sport. (It had been early on, but was discontinued until the 1980s.)

I googled weirdest Olympic sports and...pistol duelling? Tug of war? Town planning? I think my favorite was solo synchronized swimming.

Dodgeball and shuffleboard are apparently trying to become Olympic sports.

Yes, just have to weigh the pros and cons of public healthcare (low cost, long wait) to get referred (more waiting but also lower cost) vs private clinic.

Friend I live with says one particular nearby private clinic has a pretty experienced gynaecologist. Heavily considering that although it's quite expensive.

Bit shocked I got my period with so much pain etc because I'm on the Depo-Provera shot for like 6 months already with zero periods or pain.
