Woot, got swabbed, am COVID negative, and my boss told me not to come in until tomorrow anyway. (She didn’t tel my supervisor that, so I don’t think I’ll have to use one of my sick days.) Definitely a win all around.

Glad to hear it was negative, chihirochild! And that you don't have to work until tomorrow.

The imaging center called me. The machine broke. Sigh. They called a technician but they don't know that it will be up and running by the time of my appointment. Of course they don't know for sure (which is making it hard for me to know whether or not to leave work early). But if it's not fixed in time then they will reschedule me. I'm beyond frustrated. First it took two months for this appointment to get scheduled. Then it was supposed to be on Friday but they didn't have a doctor. Now it's the machine broke. They were like, we'll call you. Frustrated. Frustrated. Frustrated.

To make matters worse, I called my T's office to pay for yesterday's appointment and to schedule a new one and she was like, Oh I'm not at my desk so I'll have to call you back. So I'm trying to not forget about it in case they don't call me back. Then I need to remember otherwise I won't have a T appointment and I'll owe them money and I detest owing money if I can help it. Frustrated. Frustrated. Frustrated.

Chat has been so slow this week that I now have one slipper's worth of hexagons made (6 of them, because bil likes the higher boot ones). I'm not going to assemble anything yet cuz I don't know if I have quite enough yarn of this color. If it looks like I'm gonna run out I'll make the top/front hex out of a matching color. He always says he doesn't care if they even match at all, but I care!

Hugs, Kit, that's incredibly frustrating. Is there another location where they could send you? Or at least squeeze you in tomorrow?

My H had to deal with something similarly when he went for an MRI once--when they started the machine it was...smoking. So they ended up sending him to a different location later that day. Is there another location wher

So in the midst of talking about another topic today, Dr. T was saying how he knows he comes across as rather guarded and standoffish. He said his own sister-in-law told him she avoided hugging him for 5 years because she wasn't sure if he'd be OK with it and finally asked his wife. I thought that was a rather telling anecdote...

On the mammogram saga, the appointment is back on.....for now. The imaging center called and said they got the machine up and could I still make 2 o'clock. I was like, YES! At this point, regardless of the outcome, I just want the stupid thing done and over with.

Talked to Dr. T about some transference sort of stuff today, including sharing a recent dream I'd had about him. He seemed to handle it all OK. And we were joking around some, so I really don't think he was too bothered by it. May write it up in In Session Today later.

Just feeling a bit...not so much anxious as awkward right now. Normally, I'd reach out to him to make sure he's OK with everything we discussed, but I'm just trying to trust in the relationship for now. I do see him Friday, so not that long to wait.

Ah, home. Bracing myself for the start of term in two weeks.

New cat and lone dog were contentedly napping post-breakfast when I left.

Still haven't heard from the position I interviewed for - but the interview was just this past Monday so I'm trying to be patient. I just got a call (at 8pm!) from another company asking if I could come in tomorrow afternoon for an interview. A resounding YES! I've got to get out of this daycare job.

Hiring is generally done by people who are overworked, and for whom it is not their main job. No one in the company is pestering them about it. So it can fall off the end of the day.

And as if to welcome me home the university has done a very confusing shift in its mask policy, leading to lots of puzzled faculty.

I was just chatting with my BF on the phone (I'm going to fly out to see him for a long weekend this Friday, yippee!) and he told me that touching other people's laundry grosses him out -- even if it's clean! It also grosses him out to have other people touch *his* laundry. Is this a thing that many other people also experience, or just one of his weird lil quirks? (I don't mind either way; I'm just amused and sort of curious -- coming from a family full of healthcare workers, it takes a lot to gross me out.)

He said that there's an exception for family -- when I told him that if he ever has kids (which is something he wants to do) he's going to have to get over this particular quirk, he said that'd be different. And he pointed out that he and I used to do each other's laundry when we lived in the same place and that never bothered him. Though I asked him if he'd be okay with sharing a load of laundry with one of his brothers, he said that'd be gross too

I have that weird "quirk" too. My dad lives with us and I would never wash our clothes together! Eww. But I was mine and H's together.

I wouldn't like people touching my underwear/ bras, but everything else I would be okay with. Depends on the person doing the clothes touching too.
