One of my friend's is telling me not to go down the route that I've chosen. My original contract expired in june but they extended it. New girl arrives on the 15th of sep the date they've asked me to swap by.

He's saying that they can call the police on me and choose not to let me stay further.

One of our cats disappeared for a week, but she came back. Turns out she was sulking in the neighbour's garage.

I ordered some candles online. They're supposed to be delivered today. It's 106F right now. They may come pre-melted.

Has anyone moved from a Fahrenheit country to a Celsius country or vice versa? Does your brain just eventually know what 106F/41C means or do you always have to do the translation? What I mean is do you know that 41C is hot because when I hear the temp is 41, I'm automatically thinking that is kind of chilly not blistering hot. Just wondering if it becomes more second nature eventually.

I have got a smart mouth on me today, holy smokes. I'm really surprised h hasn't gone to bed pouting yet. I'm glad my work week is done; I hate getting up at 4:30am during my chat week especially when there's 2 hours of OT tacked on after chat. And 4 hours on Saturday again. Well, I will be happy with the paychecks anyway! This OT will be lasting probably the full 3-4 months of the project that took 18 of my teammates. And then we'll be ramping up for January OT again. Woo hoo! She says sarcastically.

I’ve lived in Greece. I just do the 9/5 + 32 formula in my head.

The only saving grace is that I work from home so if push came to shove, I could literally wake up at 4:55, brush my teeth, and log on in my pj's, then wait until my lunch break to shower. I confess I have done that once or twice!

Saturday I can do the 4 hours anytime I want so h and I will probably sleep late comparatively, go get breakfast somewhere and then I'll just log on whenever we get back home. Thankfully OT is our normal job, not chat or phones! I love my 'normal job' part of the job.

I refuse to work on Fridays (my other usual day off) because that is therapy and gym day. They cannot have my Fridays. No they can't!

I grew up in a Fahrenheit country that became a Celsius country. You get used to it.

It was super hot and humid but now another wave of thunderstorms has cooled things off a bit and looks like it will stay in the 80s for a few days at least.

What???

I mean, i know there are formulae, but i think i would just get a tattoo. With like 5 or 6 F setpoints. 0, 14, 32, 45, 70, 90. Or an attractive bracelet.

Would x1.8 +32 be easier for you?

0' c = 32' f
10' c = 50' f
20' c = 68' f
30' c = 86' f
40' c = 104' f

P.S.
Huh? It's turned my capitals into lower case.

I've notified the local vets, the animal shelter, Animal Control, posted in two local Facebook groups and my page with lots of sharing from all of these places... and still no sign of him. One lady did see a cat that looked like him about 1.5 miles from here, but upon further investigation it wasn't him.

He had lived on the streets for a little while as a kitten, so I hope he's okay. But my previous cat, Manilow, got out when I first moved in and he never came back and was never found. I'm very worried that the same thing is going to happen to Jean Luc.

Here is a picture of him sneezing.

I need to shift my session day (Friday early afternoon every 2 weeks) but T has a large caseload and tries to give every client a fixed day at a fixed time. Then I have to coordinate schedules with my partner. Well, I emailed T, and she said she may be able to shift me to a Tuesday middle afternoon in mid September. Here's hoping.

The family business I do ad hoc IT work for wanted to renegotiate $/hour and asked if they could buy my time in blocks. Eg depending on the batch of tasks, pay me $X/hour for 4 hours rather than the current piecemeal tasks. That's nice. I've also tried teaching them stuff because I write user guides but they told me they trust me and rather just have me do it. If they had a higher volume of work on a consistent basis, I'd be happy, but I'll take what I can get.

I'm having to tell recruiters that really cannot do full time. Which is easily 45 hours a week. I know many people would love that but I think I can only manage 20 hours a week or so.

I feel really weird that my resume looks solid, but...
- I never want to do project management again (I'm bad at it and it's too much stress).
- if I can help it, I want nothing to do with calculating budget expenditure or planning future budgets (I'm terrible at it and doing it without tools to help me in my last job was miserable).
- No, Nothing with reports. I've got bad social anxiety again and I hate preparing reports.

I know I'm overqualified for part time data entry work or customer service / technical support via phone, chats, emails, but really, that's what I want. I just want a job that's not extremely broad in scope than my previous.

Having way too much work due to understaffing that was perpetual tasks -- there's always new projects in different stages, always budget cycles and tracking expenses, always paperwork to do, always people to manage, always technical support to do -- is what burned me out. I felt like I was perpetually in crunch/sprint time. Always rushing, always working extra to meet deadlines, and it just never ever ended. I couldn't take a day or two off work without applying weeks in advance and even then sometimes I had to cancel my day off to work more.

I still feel my brain and body is fried.

QM, I think it's good that you know what sorts of work and what hours you'd be comfortable with. Even if it makes finding a job more difficult. Sounds like a good situation with the contract work you're doing, too.

I sponsor 8 children through Compassion International and usually in their letters to me they will ask about the weather. It is probably a prompt that they are given. So I tell them the weather in F and C so that they can learn both! I of course use an online calculator to get the correct figures!
