Marion Berry? Whats in it, cocaďne? He was mayor of Washington DC back in the day until he got too high.

I agree! People are always like, "put your peaches and pineapples on the bbq!" I just dont get it. Or jaques pepin smears some prunes on a slice of pastry and goes, oh best dessert just like my mother used to make! Im like, really?

If it doesnt come in a box that says Awry's, its not dessert. Is that the greatest name for a bakery or what? "My dessert has gone awry!" Its the michigan version of the saying, have your cake and eat it too.

Remember Bill Knapps 's? Might be a michigan thing. An out of state coworker found they served warm apple pie with their own cinnamon ice cream. This was late 70's. So good.

My building has a garden, it opens through the restaurant on the ground floor. Someone found an adolescent pup on its own there this morning. No one claimed him and he doesn’t have a microchip. The building manager called the local shelter but they’re full and can’t take him till mid-November—so for the next two months at least I am hosting a dog.

He’s very sweet, well-trained. Not full grown yet, probably be a large size (I can’t tell the breed). Afraid of doors though.

I like prunes. I did not understand the rest. I have never been to Michigan that I know of. If I drove through it, I forgot it immediately

I have decided to give my old drumming group a try again, just signed up for a Zoom thing this coming Monday evening. I'll never know if they've settled down politically unless I go see, right? I noticed on the meetup description of this one, they used one of my poems I had written during a Zoom meeting and shared. That made me feel good.

@@, I agree with NP, we need pup pictures!

Apple crisp is the very best, mostly because making a pie crust is not necessary. I make mine with oats and pecans.

una, if you have never had a marionberry, you must visit the PNW. They're like blackberries, only not.

Art, I hope you send some drumming vibes toward the Couch.

Re marionberry - i think it happened in the reagan years? I will check. But its like it was so shocking for us boomers at the time. We still saw mayors etc as paternal figures. Bill Clinton playing a saxophone changed everything!

For one of my freelance contracts, I have to deal with (and correct) APA references. I really just don't understand the period after the date in parentheses. It's not in any other reference style I work with. At least they removed the requirement for the publisher location in the latest update.

I had an endocrinology appointment. Good endocrinologist in multiple ways because I have plenty of reasons to mistrust medical providers. I need a bunch of tests, had like 7 vials of blood drawn. Should know results pretty soon - 2 or 3 days.
