Peter Jackson's Beatles documentary is absolutely mindblowing. It is like being in the studio whilst the Let It Be sessions were happening. I still have one episode left to watch, but really feel like I need to digest the first two before going any further.

Made another hat this evening. I think I'm going to make a different hat every evening for the rest of this week. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of the styrofoam head I used to have for taking pics of my hats, it's hard to get a good pic of them. Anyway focusing on crocheting (which is a calming activity anyway) keeps me from thinking too much and falling into the catastrophizing. I can make a sack full of hats and donate them someplace.

Sorry velcro.

My neighbor has his friend over and they are talking very loudly outside my bedroom window (it's 11pm and i have to get up at 5:30). I'm not sure if I should go ask them to move it inside or if I should just keep quiet. Apartment life.

I don't know if they still will allow it because of Covid, but when I volunteered in the maternity ward in the hospital, they were always looking for donations of newborn baby caps.

I know when I was going through radiation, there used to be a big box of donated crocheted hats in the waiting room for people who needed/wanted one. I'm sure any hospital that does cancer treatments would accept them. Also, I'm sure there are groups that would accept kids hats for CPS or homeless shelters.

My mom was telling me yesterday that she's been struggling a lot lately with being angry about covid-related stuff. She said her sister in law (my Aunt) is a better Christian than she is, because my Aunt invited her brother in law over for thanksgiving. The same brother in law who convinced his wife (my aunt's sister) not to get vaccinated and then refused to take her to the hospital when she first got sick with covid. until she got so sick he had to but it was too late by then. My mom said she would have written him off in a heartbeat and never spoken to him again. My Aunt is such a sweet, special lady though. She would never write off anyone no matter what they did, even causing her to lose her only sister to covid. I think I am not that good of a person either.

Are you really a good person if you let people only believe in their own world view, if you never question them and forgive them no matter what? Forgiveness is a wonderful thing, but it's only deserved if the one receiving it actually realizes that they did wrong. But it will not always help them, especially if they don't even admit they did wrong. God will hopefully at some point release their souls from what they have done, but this is not your job, the best you can do is show them how the present can be lived to the fullest, which sometimes includes getting told off, excluded, and sometimes you have to cut ties altogether for yourself to cherish the time you have. Extending your hand to them in any way is great if you feel up to that task, but it is in no way something that a truly divine creature should look down upon if you cannot manage.
Thanks for this!

Art- I think your idea to make hats and find ways to give them away (or sell them in that Etsy shop you're re-starting!) is brilliant. My mom used to knit constantly to keep her hands and her mind busy. She would show up on holidays with a bag of handknit hats and everyone digs through and chooses one. One year she knit several hats out of special soft yarn for my friend who was undergoing chemo. My friend just told me that she gave the last one away recently, and that she still has hers. A good handmade hat is so special.

Ugh, Dr. T said he was heading out after our (virtual) session today to get a Covid test because he found out someone he was in contact with tested positive...I'm guessing it was someone he saw over Thanksgiving maybe? (Not a client--he's not seeing anyone in person except occasionally outside, and it was way too cold here this past week for that.) He also said he got his booster a week or two ago, so hopefully that will protect him enough? I'm heading out to get mine in a couple hours, incidentally.

Oh, I do have one amusing image from session to share. Dr. T said he was having trouble getting back into the mode of working, even after just being off for 4 days. He said he had to shift from wandering around the house in his bathrobe gnawing on a turkey leg, with that in one hand and his coffee in the other. I was like, "Is that how you spent the last 4 days?" He said basically.
