Then he showed me again when it dove into the water.

I was concerned last session when he was wearing the dress shirt and said he had planned to start dressing more professionally again--which made me think he'd change his approach to be more, well, buttoned up. What was he wearing today? His All Day Hustle hoodie. I'd been prepared to have a conversation with him about my concerns, and it was like, "Well, I was worried about this, but..." He did reassure me he had no intentions of changing his approach, to become more cold (what he correctly interpreted my concern to be) or anything like that.

I'm glad he was able to reassure you about that, LT.

How do t's NOT know that what they wear can affect their clients?? Thinking specifically about this situation going from more relaxed clothes back to more professional, and about L always wearing black and then suddenly wearing bright blue to my last session and then being all snippy at me when I notice.

T's are weird.

I hear the end of the theme song in my head now "the @@ and stopdog show ohoh!" then a gong reverberates in the background.

I was referring to high society, which i thought was a weird remake of the philadelphia story and had celeste and frank. I simply did not remember the name of the knock-off. Doesnt anybody ever make a mistake and call you snoopdogg?

I just really really hate the movie High Society (although Grace Kelly is always crush worthy).

I can see where it is easy to confuse a short old white lesbian with a rapper.(or what ever the famous snoopdog person does)

I think Grace Kelly was stunning. Didn't she play in High Noon and also To Catch A Thief? (Or do I have it confused!)

I'm going to make an appointment with T. Maybe she can help me with coping with L's marriage and possible move. I really really don't want another therapist. L says we have decades, but I just don't think she's being realistic with the requirements to practice here. If I lose L... I can only go back to T for a little bit, but I don't even want that. And I don't want a new therapist. I doubt anyone would compare to L.

Nice description! I struggle with that as well. At least with, say, sourdough, that part isn't in the actual bread.

I have never had a pellicle look like any part of a dog's anatomy. The ones I know of look like flattish disks.
The pellicle is what people get worked up about but the scoby is the liquid. It grows the pellicle which you can throw out.

Celeste and Frank are both soooo awkward in it. Then they throw Satchmo or somebody in it, which is even more offensive than my not recalling who it was. So sorry but we agree again.

Is it possible that L could keep her license in the state where you are, plus get one in the new state if she were to move? I assume that would mean you could only see her remotely though. Hopefully she won't end up moving.

SD - No, no clock. Thats uh carp its on the tip of my tongue. Snoopdogg is Martha Stewarts partner in crime tv. Flavor Flav wears the clock.

Thanks, Artie. I agree that T's should be aware that their clothing choices will affect their clients. It did affect me a bit when he switched to more casual clothes, too. And that he was wearing shorts when met in person for a few weeks last summer (he didn't wear shorts in pre-pandemic summers). I was fine with it, but it definitely felt a bit different. (I imagine he was wearing shorts for many Zoom calls--I just wouldn't have known!)

I mean, I was even affected at times when he'd wear glasses instead of contacts to session. It was like I had to readapt to him for a bit at the start of session. Then he got Lasik. And now it's always reading glasses over Zoom.

The L thing sounded so odd to me, too.

I really feel like anything different--sudden change of hairstyle or color, too--they should consider how clients might react. Or a noticeable change to their office. Dr. T warned me the one time as I was walking back from the waiting room that he'd gotten a new chair (the one he sits in), and I appreciated that.

I don't think I've ever been affected by Info's outfits, they were just amusing once I got used to them.

A serious haircut did throw me once with No. 3, but she got like 10 inches lopped off.

Someone on here ages ago--Ellahmae, I think--had a therapist who had serious plastic surgery done on her head. That definitely requires a warning.

But maybe therapists should all wear gray Chinese pajamas and crew cuts, like Bond villains. I would find that fitting.

I didn't notice what the women wore or their decorations. But even if I had done so, I would not have commented on it. It wouldn't be my place to question their sartorial choices any more than I would have stood for them commenting on my clothing or hair or glasses or whatever. I would have taken the comment about not wearing black as a criticism and probably responded the same way the therapist did.

Art - I know that we approach life in completely different ways - but have you looked back to see how you have reacted to the other times you quit with her?

Mine was petting his cat under the chin today during session. Not sure his cat was the right sort for a Bond villain though. Or the little fluffy dog.

I think she's going to try to maintain her license here and get one in the new state. California is picky though. I think you have to be physically in the state to practice here.

I really hope she doesn't move!
