Does anyone's cat and dog sit on your lap at the same time? All three of my pets are about 9 lbs. Amelia doesn't sit in my lap hardly ever. But if Helen is sitting in my lap and Emma jumps up, Helen will get down. Likewise if Emma is in my lap Helen jumps up, Emma will get down. Even though there is like plenty of room for both!!

My dogs will both sit on my lap/chest at the same time. However, my cat isn't comfortable with my newest dog yet, especially since new dog has decided to be rude to him. With my other dog, my cat will get on my chest and lower his bottom onto the dog in my lap to make him move.

Ha. You're right. I can't explain how, but I had it confused with the Holden Commodore... which makes no sense.

It does make sense now why NP was confused about my post though.

I think an REO Speedwagon was like a precursor to the first pickup truck. It's from the 1910's era, so I'm wondering just how speedy it actually was.

I googled. Fastest recorded speed: 22 mph.

Which probably did make it speedy back then.

Aww daffy, sweet babies!

I have 3 cats, and only a few times have all 3 been on my lap at the same time. As long as no one touches each other, they are fine--which works well at night time

I am still chuckling at the idea I would have snuggly pets. Snuggling quickly makes me feel suffocated. I can last longer with a pet than with a person, but not by much

The most common comment in my breed's dog training class was "they aren't golden retrievers"
I kept a friend's golden for a couple of weeks. OMG that dog was the clingiest thing - he knew me and had been at the house before -but I couldn't move without falling over him or he was in my lap worse than my cat whenever I sat down. I used to leave the house and drive around just to get away from him for an hour or two.

I would never dream of snuggling with Stopdog up until now i had never even thought about it.

My couch is exactly 5 steps from my nearest bookcase but today i decided i wanted smaller couch like a1.5 seater to put next to the bookcases so i only have to stand up to get a book. Is this excessive?

Thanks! I'm going to, but I haven't made them up yet. The facebook group has files with tags and stuff you can print and use which I did for the first batch (the butterflies) but with the hearts I'm going to make up my own. Haven't finished them yet.

Morning couch.

While H was out on a long-distance job last night I got hit by a big wave of feelings about leaving therapy and ended up putting down the yarn and hook, and eating a big ol' bowl of said feelings. Have I learned nothing?! Ugh. I still feel sick to my stomach from it this morning so have decided I am fasting today.

I did a little too much thinking yesterday, I suppose my feelings said HEY! We want a turn! And they were too big, and I couldn't let myself feel them. Dang it all.

I'm off tomorrow so I can spend some time this evening letting myself feel sitting at my keyboard so I can write it out as it comes as that's the best way for me to do it.

Counting today, 4 more 10 hour days and hopefully on Tuesday 2/1 we go back to 5 8-hr day weeks. I'm SO over this month.

Artie, when I overeat on sugar, the best thing I find is not fasting but rather eating some protein. It puts my system right, somehow, and stops my stomach hurting.

Plus, I think you'd be fasting to punish yourself, at least in part, and I don't believe in that sort of thing. You over-indulged. Acknowledge it, understand how and why it happened, plan a better coping skill to use next time, forgive yourself, and move on. Life is too short for hair shirts!

Just my $.02, which isn't worth what it used to be. Pennies cost more to produce than they are worth.

I agree with this, art—if I do or fail to do something like overeating or exercise or anything really, punishing myself won’t help. Rather I just wipe the slate clean mentally and try again. You have to let yourself make mistakes. Just learn for the next time.

I think you yourself posted you took that same approach recently. You heard L’s voice in your head telling you something like “so you screwed up. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get back in the saddle.”

There's a reason somebody coined the term 'comfort eating'.
I'm dealing with this morning's minor disappointment similarly, if it makes you feel any better, Artie.

Thanks Mobius, @@. You're both right. I will try the protein idea. And stop feeling sorry for myself. And thanks Lost, sorry you're in the same boat.

Lunch time. Yay! I got pulled in to help with live chat a couple hours ago because it was so busy. It takes a lot of talent to be me, you guys, what I did.... after I got done with my first chat I accidentally went into Ready-phones instead of Ready-chat and got a call immediately. And here's where it really takes talent to be me - when the call came in, I heard the beep (I wear my headset in chat so I can hear the little computer alert for a chat if I'm not staring at my screen watching for it) and even thought I HEARD a call come in, I still tried to answer it as if it were a chat by typing even though there was no chat window to type in. The caller starts going "hello? hello?" and I realized what I had done. I made up some excuse or other about my headset haha

I don't know about me sometimes.....
