No, but I wish I did. L's going to be 72 this spring and I know I'm not seeing her anymore but... I still don't like it.

I use every therapist birthday as an opportunity to remind her of her own mortality. I am truly a delight as a client.

Dress up as Death next time.

Info, it turns out, will be 70 in September. It also turns out she is a Virgo. Which, I mean, no. I’m a Virgo. She is nothing like a Virgo.

Give me some examples haha. Genuinely curious, and I have this sort of humour with some people.

the two I hired were 74 and 80 when I quit and they retired. I never really thought much about other than the first one possibly being demented because of her horrible memory -but I attribute it more to deliberate lying

I've done 4 sessions with new T matt, but I just feel done with therapy and don't want to go anymore.

I sorta did that to L last year, I'd completely spaced her birthday (I usually sent her a happy birthday email after she told me when her birthday was) and mentioned it in the next session, saying happy birthday after the fact, and she wasn't too thrilled to be reminded of getting older. Oops.

hugs, lemon. even so, I hope he's been helpful in some way. there's nothing wrong with feeling done with therapy and not wanting to go anymore. maybe there's a different kind of therapy that would help more, or maybe a longer break from it would help, or maybe you are just done, or maybe there's other kinds of self-care that would be more helpful for you... you know you best.

I'm not. I'm still trippin' about turning 60 in July (eek barely over 3 months away). Then again, I don't picture myself ever being able to not give two effs. I would like to figure out how to get there though, I really would.

Yeah 70 is defined by no effs given! Its a great relief.

It comes when you realize "they" cant hurt you or coerce you anymore.

Interesting tho. Am i now officially crotchety? Like they really dont think they will be able to convince me of whatever? Like they figure i am in deaths waiting room anyways?

Eta - again i thought that was artley, not artie!

Just to be clear: I love old women and crones and I am enjoying my process of aging. I just don't want it to happen to my therapist because she must be forever alive and at my disposal. Like plastic contaminating the water supply.

Comrade, my T is 73 and looks old and frail. It stresses me out. She says she has no plans to retire but she has some health problems so you never know. I'm trying to not get attached to her. I don't want her to age anymore either.

L always said that she wanted to still be working when she's 100. I never noticed how old she looks at 71 until I started pulling back my kajillion and a half projections.

I am having a hard enough time with 60, I can't even imagine being 100 let alone still working at that age.

H just got a job up to phoenix, so I have about 6 hours to myself (unless they give him another job after that one, which happens frequently). I am finally officially starting this online course that I keep trying to start and not starting, the Finding and Living your Sacred Purpose one. Maybe turning 60 I will finally figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life...
