I have discovered a bulk grocery websites and discovered i can buy boxes of 30 Mars bars. This could be dangerous.

Gawd, pest problem in the apartment I share with 5 others. I do a lot of cleaning (this is physically exhausting for me) in the kitchen or it'll be an even bigger problem. It's already a big problem with pests not being afraid of light and people anymore.

I've talked to flatmates but I've no idea who the heck keeps creating the problem. I've spoken to the landlord too, he can only visit next week to apply pesticide powder.

I have a Zoom class at nine AM and then I hope to be an adult and go get two new tires on my car. I usually make my Dad go with me, or just send my Dad by himself, to deal with car issues. But I am hoping I can be an adult about this and get it taken care of.

Morning couchies. H just left for a job, so I have a nice quiet morning to crochet and watch old episodes of Bewitched or whatever else I fancy, well after I finish the mopping I started yesterday. Hugs/headnods all around as appropriate/wanted/needed.

I've been unpacking and organizing. Each room is like 90% done. My sister is coming over today to help again. She needs a little money, so she asked if we could pay her if she helps.

L is back. I hate the adjustment period. Little me gets angry at her leaving even though adult me understands. And then instead of taking it out on her, I turn my anger to her H. But I'm slowly coming around like normal.

And more drama with the moving company. They changed their estimate document. It's digital, so they can change it whenever. It was supposed to be $120/hr cash and $135/hr credit. Now they've listed it as $185/hr. They're also charging us $250 for moving my dad's safe. They even tried to charge my card again. Thankfully we contacted the bank and they blocked it.

But I'm doing good! Lots of sleep and pacing myself.

Oh! Something cool: my ex-pdoc just was nominated in a big journal. It was awesome seeing her get acknowledged for her work. That was why she retired as a pdoc: to do more good for the community.

I finally picked up my meds and took them. I boarded a bus at 5:25 pm and caught the return bus at 5:58. So that worked out. I need to start getting out of the house every day. They are trying to make next week no garbage week in my town. If i clean my apartment, they will think nobody participated!

So the kitten that I wanted was adopted before I could meet him but I adopted his litter mate brother. The kitten foster mom is kind enough to keep him this weekend because I'm dogsitting my Dad's chihuahua and didn't want to bring home a new kitten in the middle of that. I'm excited to pick him up Monday but nervous as to how my older cat will do with him. I named the kitten after my great grandfather who was an amazing man - my family, especially my Grandma is thrilled Couch 237: Social Rules

Hello couch! Just logged off from work, ahhhh.

So yesterday afternoon while I was kickin' back watching TV and crocheting, h called and said our friends had called and suggested we meet for dinner at our favorite mexican place and then go to a concert at a nearby local wine/beer garden. They had picnic tables/chairs/benches all spread out nicely, and a local band was playing 60s/70s/80s rock. They were pretty good, it was fun and I was singing along to pretty much every song haha. We hadn't gotten together with our friends in awhile so it was nice seeing them, and getting outta the house! I told h I want to go back in the future, the cover charge was only $5 and they do ask that you buy a drink or food, but if you only buy one drink it's not too bad. The food other people were carrying past where we were sitting looked/smelled good so we'll probably just eat there next time we go. H usually doesn't want to accept spur of the moment invitations so I was happily surprised yesterday.

Mine came out low likelihood which is what I figured. My trauma was most definitely not relational but at the hands of people other than my immediate family which, while it still took decades to get beyond, wasn’t complicated by that familial connection too much. Not less than; just different.

This is something a lot of people could benefit from learning, myself included.

It seems like a lot of people (conscious or not) have a "hierarchy of wounding/abuse/trauma" with regards to themselves due to societal messages, and therapists can also definitely contribute to that.

I also got a "moderate to high likelihood" on that test, and I answered almost all C's. I wonder what the "highest" level is. Severe likelihood?

I am going camping on my own tomorrow for three nights. There will be no WiFi or phone coverage in the area. The weather is forecast for rain and cloud. I feel apprehensive. I know the area as I have been walking and swimming there before, but it's four miles to the nearest village and I won't have a car (my partner is dropping me off). I have been craving solitude, but I wonder if I should have solituded somewhere with a corner shop.

I got through the weekend with my parents being gone, although I had really intense anxiety. I had panic attacks yesterday but I took some alprazolam and did some deep breathing and tried to calm down. I was very "adult" and went and put two new tires on my car this weekend, by myself. I usually drag my Dad along to car appointments but I was like, I can do this. I can do this. And I did. So that gave me some self confidence and stuff. It was really hard to get through the weekend but I did it. I thought about contacting T but I didn't really know what to say. So I didn't. I tried to stay busy and distracted, which helped. But not enough. I am anxious again today at work because of the big bosses being here and tomorrow another boss from NY joins us in CA and I don't get along well with that boss so I am apprehensive. T appointment tomorrow so I guess I will have a lot to talk about.

Kit, that's great that you got through it and were also able to get tires on your car by yourself! I agree that things like that can be really intimidating.

Sorry that work is stressful now, too. Hugs.

I have in the past but probably haven't had one in a number of years.

Brought new kitten home today. Older cat is not amused but she's doing pretty well. She hissed and growled a little bit. Kitten is chilling in the bathroom in his new kitten bed (which he loves) and older cat is relaxing with me in the living room although she's keeping a careful eye on him whenever he gets up. I have a feeling that they'll be fast friends in no time.

Google suggests that Little Moons is a brand of mochi ice cream from the UK. I've tried a brand in the US called MyMochi and I can attest that the mango and strawberry varieties are quite delicious and can be quite tempting when you keep them stocked in your freezer. Haven't tried any other flavors although they do exist.

They also appear to be gluten free.

There is a coconut flavour which I haven't tried yet. The chocolate and hazelnut is delicious, the mango and passion fruit is even more delicious if such a thing is possible. There is no Little Moon shop near my camping area. I can't believe I have overlooked basic infrastructure in this way.
