I feel a little relief. At least I don't have to go back to the other pdoc!

I'm glad the new pdoc and nurse seem better!

Hugs, Kit. I hope you can get through to tomorrow OK.

And I talked to Dr. T earlier today and wish I were talking to him again before Wednesday, so I get it.

I'm working up my courage this evening to call a new dentist tomorrow and get an appointment for a checkup and teeth cleaning, a plan I just made for myself while working through this week's stuff in the CBT program I'm currently doing. I am somehow going to make myself call them tomorrow!! If only because I don't want to get on my coaching call tomorrow after work and have to tell her I didn't do it. I think anyway that she can see the stuff I put in the app. I'll have to ask her tomorrow.

My mother’s house went on the market over the weekend. Today I decided between offers.

My aunt told me that the new owners bricked over my pink tulips and daffodils in my dad's front yard rose gardens. I couldn't bear to look.

Just had a breakfast burrito. It was yummy. I do think that this increase Olanzapine is going to cause weight gain though because I thinK I am hungrier than I was. I am going to have to watch that.

Cool. My new Los Angles Rams shirt that I ordered is going to be delivered today! It is blue and it has a yellow LA on it with blue palm trees in the LA part and then the Rams icon. I also got Dad and me matching Rams blankets. They are fleece, buffalo checked white and blue. I had a different Rams blanket that a friend gave to me but Helen has claimed that as her own. Lol. I am not going to fight my cat over a blanket. Besides. She has claws so she would probably win! She lays on that blanket every day. She loves it.

I hope my therapy appointment goes well tonight. Lately it feels like we aren't having enough time, even with it being 50 minutes. Even with us meeting twice a week. So strange.

I hope it goes well, too, Kit. I know what you mean about it not seeming like enough time, even if you meet more than once a week. Dr. T's backup, R, does 60-minute sessions, which feel like so much time compared to his 50-minute ones. I know some T's do 45--not sure I'd do well with that. I feel like the last 20-25 minutes of a session tend to when I do the best work.

Is 60 minutes not common there? I don't know how I'd manage with 50 minutes, even though that's probably what I get after pleasantries at the beginning and breathing exercises at the end.

It seems like many (most?) T's here do 45- or 50-minute session "hours," then have 10-15 minutes between sessions (to take notes, use the bathroom, check messages, etc.).

Part of it is an insurance thing, I believe, where the standard therapy session reimbursement is for something like 42-52 minutes (that might not be quite right), and some insurance won't approve 60 minutes without a fight, as I understand it. (I pay the full fee to my T up front and get partially reimbursed after, so it's a bit different for me. And for others who do private pay, where they don't use insurance.)

The insurance system seems like one giant complication to me. 42-52 minutes seems pretty arbitrary.

People should be able to access support to which they are entitled...

Agreed, though at the same time, without insurance, a considerable portion of people wouldn't be able to access mental healthcare (or regular healthcare) at all. But it's a big pain, too.

For example, I've had an issue recently where insurance started sending Dr. T reimbursement checks instead of me. When I've already fully paid him. H had to spend some time on the phone with them (insurance is through his job, so he's the main cardholder). It was some weird clerical error (it's only a few so far, he's given them to me, and we'll need to return them voided to the insurance company, and they'll reissue them to me, but still annoying for all of us!).

My sessions are 45 minutes and I'm pretty certain it's an insurance thing because I recall him saying something about other clients with different insurance get 50 minutes. We do go over time sometimes though. I wish it was the full hour, but I also get that they need a break between clients and I'd much rather have my session start at the top of the hour rather than something weird like 1:15.

That may be one good thing about moving around as much as my family did - we never lived in one house for more than 3-4 years so we never got all that attached to them. I can't even remember but 2 of them
