Transgenderism. Or just genderism. What does it mean to be a boy or a girl. I understand what social norms are. Physical mutilation is a bridge too far for me. Drs are telling clients they can change their plumbing for them to the opposite sex. But they can't. I would prefer more attention be paid to expanding social norms. To where *I* dont get weird looks for going into the ladies bathroom.

I never saw more than the first 10 minutes of that film. I either fell asleep or wandered off.

I did watch a guy playing in a striped uniform last night make two great catches in the outfield - jumping up and catching the ball going over the fence on one and slumping down it with the ball in his glove. He must be new and they kept showing his dad (I think) watching the game.

Also Oppenheimer is out too. I like war movies so would prefer to see that.

I like Margot Robbie so I am very torn about seeing Barbie. I, Tonya was really moving for me because I saw elements of my mother in the horror of her mother. Barbie, not so much.

Every decent person wants the world to be a better place for all of us people. It's divisive to imply that people with gender critical views which prioritise women want trans people to suffer. This "with or against, for or opposed" partisanship is exactly the problem I was describing. Every single radical feminist or gender critical activist I know has been involved in the fight for racial equality, campaigned against homophohic policies, worked in women's centres, rape crisis services, mental health projects, brought up families, cared about humanity and social justice. I want the best for Artley's family too! AND I care that I can attend a CSA support group without male bodies in the room and that my smear test is carried out by a female nurse and that my elderly partner will be on a single sex ward at her most vulnerable and ill. I understand that biological sex does not matter to some people. I want people to respect that it matters to me and people like me.

I don't watch many movies and I generally just don't register much about them even when I read the nyt or other stuff. I will probably still be alive when it comes to some off rate channel I get and I can play it quietly in the background so the dogs will sleep - that is how I watch most things that aren't christopher guest or monty python (although that ship sailed so no new ones that I have to make sure I don't miss)

I knew about oppenheimer because there is also an opera and I thought that was what they were talking about and I was surprised that so many people were excited about some new production of it. Then I found out that was a move too
