Moo, the voice of reason.

But youtube shows us many people dont even know what country the queen of england was from, or how long a quarter of an hour is, or how many dimes in a dollar, so i dont have much faith in the usa's abilities of critical thinking, when just regular thinking is beyond their ken!

So thankful for my Sunday evening coda (codependents anon) meeting. I just wish I wasn't such a dweeb when I share!! Oh well. It was honestly me tonight, so I guess I can't ask for more than that! I think the most helpful thing about the meetings for me right now anyway, is the sense of belonging that I feel there, that I'm not some 'lone codependent ranger' or whatever; I feel accepted even when I babble incoherently. (Well it wasn't quite that bad but almost.) Even so, it's still hard for me to let myself be so totally seen when I share.

Working this program for reals this time since May is making a positive difference in my marriage, and I'm grateful for that.

I'm glad the meetings are helping, Artie! And I imagine you're making more sense than you think you are.
Thanks for this!

I think you’re being too harsh on yourself Art. Don’t think the others would think you were being a dweeb at all. Feeling supported and heard is the most important aspect. Glad you found a good group.

stopdog and una should genuinely be on the stage. What a perfect comedic set up, execution and delivery. #1 groupie here. (stopdog will warm to me eventually, no one can resist a groupie for ever, she's only human after all).

Our act will only use words with the letter k in them, since that movie said they were funny. So far we have ken and ilk.

I just watched my son say that very line last night in Spamalot. He is an excellent Dennis on and off stage. Heh.

Thanks Lemoncake. Ugh, I wonder if I will ever learn to let go of these codependent behaviors (constantly needing/craving external approval is of course one of them) and that's what I was doing, huh, worrying about looking like a dweeb.

Well, progress over perfection, right? I'm definitely making progress in the area of my relationship with h - as far as letting him manage his own 'stuff' (feelings, etc). In the past I did not know how to do that at all and was constantly making problems where there didn't have to be. I've been able to see in the past couple of months just how much of the problems between us I was causing!! He's not blameless, of course, but working on my part of it has certainly helped a lot.

Yes progress over trying to be perfect.

Do you also do other fun stuff just for yourself that doesn't necessarily involve working on yourself? Maybe that would help you also get out of your head.

I read and crochet.... I haven't played around with painting in a while, maybe I'll get that stuff out after work one day this week. Thanks.

Saw Dr. T's backup, R, today. As usual, she was very insightful (talking about stuff with Dr. T and how it ties into my past). May post more on it later. I see her again Wednesday, too.

Man, that is a lot to deal with. I'm sorry. This would stress me out. Either he's the unluckiest guy ever or he's doing something that's causing him to lose these jobs. Maybe he needs a therapist to figure this out.

I think there's a few reasons why he keeps losing jobs:
1. He's working for little companies that need him because they're failing.
2. He doesn't play office politics.
3. He's remote so it's hard to catch a problem in the moment and fix it in the moment.
4. He thinks he's always right.
5. He's a compulsive liar and exaggerates what he can do or has done.

He is good at what he does which is why he tends to find a job quickly. And he does work very meticulously and fast.

I just wish he could maintain a stable job.
