I think I need to find a new therapist. I like art t but it’s not really helping and I am spending more time in bicycle guy’s town than my own.

I hate looking for a therapist. I wish they had speed therapy events like speed dating.

I think you should propose your idea of speed therapy to anyone with power that will listen.

I've thought of that speed therapist idea, too! That one backup T (not R) that Dr. T sent me to would have been weeded out immediately, as she just made me feel ill at ease for some reason

I've done actual speed dating in the (rather distant) past. Ended up dating a couple people (not from the same event) that I met there. Went on a couple dates with a few others. They were fun!

I never tried speed dating in the past. It’s possible I just didn’t know about it or perhaps just didn’t pay any mind that such a thing existed. It’s totally a good way to find a suitor, therapist, or anything else one is searching for. Mechanic, babysitter, hairdresser, etc..

Time for some new Couch cushions?

I found (and bought) this today.

There's a scene in the final episode of This is Us where Rebecca says to Jack about the Pin The Tail on the Donkey game:

'When the universe puts something that obvious in front of you, you don't just walk away.'

I'm deep in process at the moment, trying hard to trust it.

Lost, how timely!

My mini-fridges "sweat" a lot inside. Also, i need to make some cooling neckscarves for myself. The ones they sell on the internet nowadays are so thin, they are not effective. So i ordered some material and absorbing polymer crystals.

I am going to make fridge bottom liners that will absorb the damp, replacing with a dry one as they fill up.

Anyway, i can make a couple Couch crying towels while I'm at it!

I’ve found telling myself not to fall asleep actually helps.

I sometimes listen to those heavy rain videos.

Milk before bed can help too.

Maybe you could get a baby sized indoor paddling pool too. Or use a bucket with cold water for your feet.

My mother would use a wet towel or T shirt on her body when it got very hot. Not just the neck.

Many moons ago when I worked nights, I had a thunderstorm CD that I played on repeat all day every day so I could sleep. Plus I had room-darkening shades. Both helped!

I liked the initial interviewing them - if only because I liked seeing just how odd so many of them really are

Do be careful about length. We don't need another Isadora Duncan incident. In fact, finding out about her accident so horrified me I have never worn scarves of any sort. I can't stand anything being around my neck.

Hey couch well I'm ready to share this and actually leave the post up this time . I tried twice before but deleted them . I think I'm ready now. So, my much-too-long saga with L has officially come to an end, as of 3 weeks ago today. Well my last session was in mid-February, when she said a couple of things that led me to cancel and tell her I needed a break which had been open-ended. But I talked to her on the phone 3 weeks ago and told her it's permanent, that I'm not coming back. It was a pleasant enough conversation, I am relieved that it is finally over, and I (still) feel like I escaped from a cult. I never should have gone back the first time I left. But it's all water under the proverbial bridge now because I am free. I didn't see just how unhealthy that relationship had become for me until after I got out.

Thank you all so much for putting up with my struggles with her over the years.

Taking Ambien for a few years taught me how to fall asleep. Also limiting myself to one coffee a day. Also just being old and not having to get up in the morning. I was sleep deprived my whole effing life once i started grade school. I had afternoon kindergarten - not a morning person even at age 5!

I thought it was only dangerous if you go around standing up in convertibles and yelling, "Bugatti!" Quite the memorable movie scene.

Or like when they gave us break-away lanyards for our ID cards at work, and i walked around saying it was in case we got them caught in the threshing machines, and nobody thought it was funny. I worked with dead people. I dreamt this week i didnt have my id card for work! Its been 20 years!
