We've been getting produce from a fairly local group called Hungry Harvest. Their stock varies, but you can pick what you get of the available items. It's surplus fruits/veggies (and other items, like potato chips) where either they produced too many or they're too big/small/unattractive to sell in stores. I think we got some of the world's tiniest plums and apricots this week (they were by the pound). And some rather oddly shaped green peppers (plus other stuff).
LT if I ever invest in such a peach truck and somehow ever come across you with said peach truck-I would make sure to not give you 13 but a number of your choice.

I grew up in a city and your mention of a peach truck brought back visions of being a young child and the fruit truck coming down the street. It was basically a small pick up truck with a little trailer on the back. He would stop and you could go out and say what you wanted and the guy would throw with you wanted into a paper bag and hand it over. He did a lot of business because he was cheaper than the corner store or grocery store.

I have had a couple of clients (at least one on death row) who had some issues with numbers - made dealing with him as a client hard because he could go bonkers over our bar numbers that have to go on all pleadings. He was told more than once that the court would not appt him new attys just because the bar number was not to his liking.

I saw about Richard Simmons, sad. And not Dr Ruth too! I used to love listening to her radio show when I worked at the grand canyon, as we had no tv could just get radio stations at night.

This morning I finished the first draft of my "memoir" (scare quotes because I feel self-conscious, because why would a no-name college professor only about halfway through her expected lifespan write a memoir?). Now to print it out, read it through, decide what needs work, and get to that. Also finding an agent. Non-academic publishing is so very different from academic publishing, where you cold submit to presses and go right to working with an editor.

Congrats--that's awesome! I mean...I'm also working on a memoir, so I'd like to think that people want to read stuff by those whose names aren't known, but who might have interesting stories. The instructor of my recent class fit that category and got published by a Big 5 house.

I think the first draft is the hardest part of any writing, really, so you've crossed that hurdle. As the saying goes, you can't edit a blank page. I hope the editing process goes well, along with the search for an agent.

The class I took had a section on getting published that included various resources. Let me know if you're interested in any of those, and I can PM you. (It's a few websites, nothing exclusive to the class, though you may already be aware of them.)

Boy, this was a weird rule of 3 (almost 4) - you either loved them or... not.

If you count Shelley Duvall on Friday, it’s 4.

I remember her mostly from when she played Olive Oyl in Popeye -because she looked exactly like the comic was drawn. Disappointing movie though - could have been a lot funnier.

I know the name Shannon Doherty but I don't recall watching that tv show she was in.

Yeah we were way too old for beverly hills 90210! Heck i was a generation too old for melrose place, which was supposed to be an "adult" 90210!

We went straight from Leave it to beaver to Murder she wrote.

Maybe you identify more with gen x than baby boomers? You were almost on the cusp there.

That makes sense because my sisters and brother are all gen x. (I think gen x started in 1965? and i was born in 1962, and my brother in 1965, sisters 1967. so it was 3 to 1 haha)

I'm working on a poem this rainy afternoon and H keeps coming in my office wanting to show me all these conspiracy-theory videos that are already popping up about the attempt on Trump. No, i haven't gotten my real door yet. I so need to do that.
