I hope you have some good tea on hand, Artie.

Every time you want to snarl at someone, take a sip.

Forgot to share a funny thing from yesterday's session. So, eons ago, I had googled Dr. T's wife (knew her name because she showed up in a FB group I was in--I alerted Dr. T, she left the group). Not much came up aside from a few posts on the Facebook pages of a couple bands she liked, saying things like, "hope you come back to our area soon!" or "great show!" One of them was Bush. I never mentioned this to Dr. T.

Yesterday, I was talking about a concert I'd been to the night before (local band that's been around a long time that I seriously doubt anyone would know). I've been listening to them since college, and I was telling Dr. T about a time my college boyfriend was critical of that group when we saw them live, saying, "they don't change keys enough." As in, their songs are too musically simple.

Dr. T said that no one should criticize another person's taste in music, as all bands have their devoted followers. "For example, the band Bush sounds like just noise to me, but I know they have a lot of fans." I think I managed to keep a straight face. I did say how their big album came out when I was a junior or senior in high school, so a couple of those songs still have some meaning to me. (He was probably thinking, "oh no, not LT, too!")

Id say more of a Hilaryism. It sounds like a basket of deplorables.

I dont deserve credit for ALL witticisms. Just those after oscar wilde.

I'd rather have wine than tea.... but... that might not be conducive to my continued employment! haha!

Thankfully I am on lunch now, and heading to the kitchen to make some of my special prickly pear tea. It's expensive so I don't have it very often.

I would think there is a difference between criticizing a band itself versus criticizing someone who liked that band. I have never heard of a band called Bush but I don't listen to much music that would come from bands unless it it from the 70s fm stations that were from when I was in high school.

I’m guessing more than half the “poopulation” that works from home probably day drinks. I’m just guessing it wouldn’t be so odd if a glass of wine was on your desk.

PSA: I am not encouraging drinking during work hours. Just saying it probably happens more times than not.

Do you want to share some popular bands you like? Not local just popular. I’m curious of your taste in music because you obviously enjoy it. You go to. Lot of concerts.

Sure, though I suppose it depends on what you'd classify as 'popular." not in any particular order beyond the first one:

The National
The War on Drugs
Modest Mouse (saw them a few weeks ago)
Death Cab for Cutie
Typhoon
Built to Spill
The Killers
Arcade Fire
Ryan Adams (not Bryan)
New Order
Third Eye Blind
Cage the Elephant
Bruce Springsteen
Our Lady Peace
Silversun Pickups
Vampire Weekend
Interpol
Fleetwood Mac
Rolling Stones

Really? I never would have thought that (my failure of imagination does not mean I think you are wrong -just that it never occurred to me). I can't drink much anymore at all without feeling horrible - just one drink can wreck me (terrible sleep, generally feeling bad) for a day or so. Even the beloved scotch is only doable in tiny thimbles - probably not even half of a shot. And port the same.

Stopdog, same for me. I can’t really drink anymore but it’s easy to imagine a lot of people who work from home don’t hesitate. It’s just too easy if the day is stressful to reach into a cabinet, fridge or freezer to grab something. I don’t think those people who may do it are drinking to get drunk but one or two beers or a half glass of wine or a single shot during work hours at home might be common.

don't tempt me lol

(Not that I'm innocent or anything. I actually used to keep a bottle of rum in my desk drawer many, many years ago when I worked midnights, when rum & coke was my drink of choice! I was able to sleep on a couch in the executive conference room on Saturday or Sunday after working all night haha)

Tasty, messy food - so I'm told.

If you're on the phone, you can enjoy without anybody seeing you.

I’m wondering if I can make iced tea with chamomile. Chamomile is supposed to support relaxation but I don’t want it hot because we are in a never ending heatwave.

I'd go for it. I think it's worth a try. Neverending heatwave here, too. A similar heatwave led me to try an iced chai latte years ago at Starbucks, which may sound odd, but was quite good.

LT- I enjoy a little of everything. Hard rock, soft rock, alternative, country, 80’s pop, 80’s-90’s rap (but not rap beyond those years). I also love the Beatles and the one and only Janis Joplin. Really everything. The only thing I really can’t tolerate is heavy scream music.

Then you wouldn't like my favorite band Epica!

I don't know of any reason why you couldn't make any black or herbal or green tea iced.

I make most of my teas with room temp water. The camomile still gives off a lovely aroma.

I am basically a cavewoman with a salad spinner. I love lettuce soooo much.

I love the motown era girl groups. Altho "will you still love me tomorrow" was written by carole king.

Ah. I know it's supposed to be calming chamomile – but I've never really felt anything from it and I don't like the taste so I'm always mixing it with something else like mint. I tried one of my persons happy pills to help her anxiety over one of her chemos, her description of it being like whoosh and calm immediately when she put one under her tongue was not what I experienced because I experienced nothing from it. I think it was lorazepam. I am either so chill that I can't get chiller, or I'm so tightly wound that there is no unwinding
