Tim- Some women find you attractive- you're married, right? You're wife wouldn't be with you if she didn't find you attractive. And as for the attitudes from the women at work, most women have to act that way around their male co-wokers b/c they really want to be friendly but don't want to give out the wrong signals- even some male posters on this thread admitted that just a smile from a woman is often interpreted by guys as flirting. It's their job & they want to be taken seriously, which is hard for a lot of women ( as I've mentioned it is for me). Maybe since you read this thread, you'll understand that & why some women have to behave that way. I'm glad you found this thread to be interesting, even if you didn't understand my original question & the thread veered off the subject onto another topic which I'd never meant it to. And even if you were being sarcastic.
trance- If you'd taken the time to read this thread, you would see that I'm not complaining about getting hit on by men. That isn't my point at all. I specifically stated that it is very flattering when guys do hit on me, but not so flattering when they're creeps. And if you read the original post, you would clearly see that the issue was not about guys hitting on me, but that they think I'M hitting on THEM when I'm not. I'm sorry that you think humans only need two things in life-food & sex- that may be true for you but- for most humans, our most basic need is to be loved & give love. But hey, it that works for you, whatever floats your boat. I think that's all the diginity I'm going to give you as far as replying to what you wrote. biscuit tin- I'm not young (I'm 44), there are a lot of other women around who are more attractive than I am, & - I'm not dumb & I'm sorry that you couldn't comprehend this thread. Guess I just need to work on my anxiety/trauma issues & try to relax around people. I just thought it was an interesting topic & something some women could probably either relate to or give advice on, & thank you to those who responded (including the guys.)
I didn't come from the most functional of families, but I do have to give a lot of credit to my parents for raising me w/ class & teaching me that if I only had something nasty to say, not to say anything at all. Or, if something had to be said or I felt the utter need to say it (such as answering someone's question with a reply they may not agree with), at least be tactful. This thread has served it's purpose & run it's course- again, thanks to the support to those who gave it. I'm going to ask the moderators to close it now. I don't understand the need to close a thread as soon as there's a difference of opinions on a certain topic. Psyched, the thread served it's purpose? Ran it's course? Can someone please explain.
