Just need to vent
I pulled over so my daughter could have a drink today. I was parked legally against a curb. The owner of the house came out and shouted at me that her husband needs to park there and I needed to move. Came right up to my open window and put her face practically in the car and shouted that I had to move. I explained my car is taxed MOT'd and insured and I am LEGALLY parked on a public highway (which I was) her husband came up and said I had to move so he can park outside his house. I said the same thing again and just before I drove off I said he needed to teach his mother some manner as there is a small child present (wasn't his mother, was his wife ha ha sorry not sorry) I was so upset by it all. Absolutely hate shouting, she nearly reduced me to tears yet I done nothing wrong. Sorry needed to vent |

I hate confrontation And I'm thinking now that there must have been a reason she was so irate, raging even. My guess is that they live opposite a school (not my daughters) so have a battle with parents over their drive and outside their house so they have to park their car elsewhere. The school run had finished and he road was pretty clear so, assuming agajn, her husband had to park away from the house while someone else parked there to collect their child. They drove off and went home and husband decided to fetch his car and park it outside his house, then I park there and piss them off even more. What other explanation can there be lol |

Hi hedge leaf sorry to hear about this. Sometimes people can be very mean. I work in customer service in people's houses sometimes I get people yelling at me too. Try not to let it bother you to much.

I hate being shouted at by anybody! But from your description you had a perfect right to be where you were parked. I think your daughter summed it up pretty well. The anger is her problem not yours. They do not. Own the public right away. I think you handled it well

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I know it can be really startling when someone yells at you essentially for nothing.
Parking at my kid's school was difficult, as the road was a dead end. I would intentionally get there early to park in one spot where it was easy to get out of the space. All I had to do was back up a few feet and then I could drive forward quickly and easily. One day a women pulled up behind me and honked her horn. She wanted that spot. I didn't move. She got out of her car and told me to move my car ahead into the next vacant spot, as she didn't want to have to parallel park into that spot. I said no. She said "you can't move your car ahead?" I said no, she was really, really, really mad. Some people have major entitlement issues. And sometimes you get caught up in those. I still struggle with the conflicts I encounter, two of which I've posted on here today. The only thing you can really do is keep reminding yourself that you are a good person and you've done nothing wrong. Learning to deflect others negativity isn't easy, but it's doable. And you can get good at it...eventually. Again, sorry this happened, it had nothing to do with you. Last edited by Anonymous40057; Jul 01, 2016 at 10:44 PM. |

Love your response! Well done. Hopefully that might make them think twice next time. Some people are truly out of this world with manners. Or lack thereof.

I love that ypu called her his mother! I laughed at that. Great parenting too! Your little one sounds very smart!
One time someone cut me and my husband off in a drive through. She should have gone around the building and behind us, but she illegally pulled sideways infront of us. My husabnd freaked out bc he was about to hit her bc he didnt see her pulling in. So he stopped short and honked. She got out of her car came to his window and spit on him! I was so in shock i just told him to back up and leave. It was so crazy i cant even comprehend that experience. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk |
