Halloween woes

So my friends bugged me to come to a Halloween Party tomorrow night. I finally consented. I didn't care much for the theme (rock 'n' roll), but I went to a costume shop, figuring I could bail on the party if I didn't find anything. I found a cute little Cher costume to go with the theme. I was excited about going (it's tomorrow night).

Earlier tonight one of my friends calls me because she has found out that my ex-boyfriend and his new girlfriend will be coming to the party as Sonny & Cher. Can you believe that?! What kind of horrid twist of fate is that?!

I spent about a hundred bucks on the costume, so I don't really want to go buy another one. But I'm tempted to just forget it now. What would you guys do? I know Cher is the type of costume where there might be more than one at a party. I just didn't expect my EX and his girlfriend to have chosen those roles.....

I imagine their costumes will "match" each other whereas yours won't. I'd make a sign that said, "It ain't me, babe" (Bob Dylan song the Turtles made "famous" http://bobdylan.com/songs/aintme.html ) and convert the costume enough so you look like Joan Baez or June Carter :-)
