I need to know this myself. And for everyone who doesn't want a man, please allow those of us who do figure out how we can get one. Just because you don't want a husband doesn't mean that I'm wrong for wanting one.

I found my current fiance naturally and without even looking, which is what many people will say can happen very easily.
I had just broken up with someone, but I was OK and happy to be single. I was doing my thing, out for music on my own. We had met a few months before through a mutual love of local music, and he approached me to talk. We talked, and I didn't think anything of it at the time. He thought I didn't like him, so he avoided me for the next few months. I noticed this. Then, three months later, at another local music event, I bumped into him, and he got up the courage to approach me again. He apologized for ignoring me, he told me that he had liked me and thought I wasn't interested, and then he asked me out to dinner. I was out alone at the time, enjoying the music and enjoying being out on my own, but I said yes because I thought it was very endearing. I wasn't even looking to meet someone. Lo and hehold, after that we started dating. Now a year later we're planning our wedding. People often say it happens when you least expect it. People also advise to just do your own thing, pursue what you enjoy doing the most, and you will naturally meet people that way. This is exactly how it happened for me. |

I would love to put together examples of movie scenes and analyze all the verbal and nonverbal cues. It could be so entertaining and educational. It’s all subjective too. Everyone might see things differently.

I think analyzing real life situations not scripted ones would be more entertaining & educational.

I probably learned most all I know about relationships from songs and movies. I DK, it’s interesting to me about perception.

I bet most scripts are based on personal experiences and observing others. There is the phrase: truth is stranger than fiction and we learn a lot through observation and imitation--this includes imitating things in TV, in movies, and in the news. But mostly, my impression of what men find attractive, I learned from observing my dad and listening to my husband. One way to "learn" how to attract a man is to have a bf or male platonic friends and see what they complement, what makes them smile/pay attention.

Sure, our very first and most influential sources of learning are our parents. ![]() I had acting training. I’m so much about thinking about how the viewer sees things, if that makes sense, due to that.

I actually learned the most because I grew up one of the guys so guys always talked to me about stuff like that & also their strategies on breaking up. Best insight is real world. So much non-reality or even close in movies. Real world guys gave much more useful information

I agree. There is no elaboration, clarification, or follow-up from the original anonymous poster. I don't even know if what she wrote is being handled in the right context because we don't see any feedback from her.
