when i was growing up and in my teens years i was surrounded by groups who made fun of everyone that wasnt like them.. it started early when i was young and i defended my older sister from them...

some of them did terrible things.. i remember a wounded bird... one of them began throwing rocks at it and it couldnt fly away... it was horrible to watch at my age when the most experience i'd had up to then was that animals were our friends..

the type of people i met didnt disappear no matter where i travelled.. someone mistreated someone...

i have always figured the abusers were abusive cause hey didnt get good love in their life... it didnt stick to them somehow if they did...

so, for my abusers... hey, i am saddened life was like that for you... it didnt help matters to spread it along...

i hope you have felt a moment of joy at some time .. i hope you can for one moment imagine how others feel when they also feel a moment of joy.... its very sad that someone took it away from them... as it is sad that yours was also taken from you...

i pray for healing for all of us concerned...

Aw, NWTR - it figures you'd have compassion for these people.

There was an older boy in our neighborhood that most of us used to fear because he liked to beat up people for no apparent reason. He attacked my friend's little brother one day - fractured his skull with a rock and caused a loss of vision in one eye and a seizure disorder. My friend and I built a "fort" behind his garage, and planned our revenge. We figured his own property would be the last place he'd look for us. prayer request for my abusers..

Years later I ran into him at the gas station, and he acted like we were old friends. It took me by surprise because I had considered him my biggest enemy. I realized then he never had ANY friends when we were young - maybe that was why he was so mean. I couldn't help but feel sorry for him because he appeared so lonely. I suspect the only form of communication he was taught was intimidation and brutality. How sad. prayer request for my abusers..

I try not to have much to do with those people. I almost got hit by a car once because I was so scared of the neighborhood bully.

Sad, very sad.

Prayers for the abusers.

You humble me NTR...

As St. Francais taught.."To Forgive rather than be forgiven"...to aspire to be selfless which leads to fearlessness and thus JOY...

You are a fine example for us to follow..

It truly amazes me that you would be so willing to ask for prayers fot the very people who hurt you. I can only aspire to become half as kind as you are.

Bullies become bullies for a reason. Usually they were bullied by someone, maybe even by their parent.

This is for the bullies, and for the victims, and for anyone who is angry: http://www.angriesout.com/

(((((((NTR)))))))) i am deeply touched by this post. I know the bible teaches me to love , forgive, and pray for those who trespass against us. But sometimes my "human" heart doesn't seem to be able to let go of the anger.

Thank you for posting this here. It is a reminder to me how much easier it is to love than to spend so much life energy consumed with anger of past hurts.

I too join you in prayer for the abusers have also been abused. It is in most cases a learned behavior.
