While I think it's great that you are doing the selection and clerical work in putting these inspirational posts here for all to enjoy, I do wish you'd credit your sources. These writings are not your own, but rather the work of others. It's these others who have earned right to kudos for their creative efforts. Please do the right thing, sky. gg

When others try to reduce you to a whine or a whimper and cause you to obsess with feelings of doomsday Don't let them find you. Those who use tongues as weapons flinging poison words shooting from ambush not caring who they hit Everyone sees Be glad and fly away good people For One who has the larger bow and stronger arrows will detect the mystery of the dark heart. And under His wing will he hide you. Peace

Who can listen to the laughter of a child and not break into a smile? Who can nuzzle into a new puppy, bunny, or kittie and not feel unconditional love? Who can stand at the edge of the Grand Canyon and not realize the magestic power of nature? Who can watch a sailboat glide along effortlessly and not dream of such a life? Find something today to appreciate and it will fill you to overflowing that you may be able to share, too.

So many people wander this earth wondering what their purpose is. Those who believe in God, or a higher power, can gain the higher view and enjoy the horizon. We are here for others. The idea of "pay it forward" did not originate with a movie. Even if your sight is foreshortened, begin where you are. Visit someone who is ill; pray for him Take food to a needy person. Volunteer. Distribute tracts of encouragement to those in your neighborhood. Give someone your smile. Look beggars in the eye, even if you have nothing else to give. Respect others. Appreciate other's efforts to encourage. Don't be quick to blow your car horn. Allow others to cut in front of you. Realize they might be having a worse day than you. Begin where you are; do with what you have.

Sometimes the evidences of God are missed Sometimes our eyes are can only focus on the rut we feel we are stuck in God has promises for us if we can but lift our head lift our eyes to the hills and see Him, and His promises He promises us new experiences new paths for our journey a new spirit if we but ask Then we will have a new heart a new spirit that will put a new song on our lips and that will make us recipients of God's mercies that are new every morning

What a glorious phenomena to behold, the rainbow is! To gaze upon it's often fleeting appearance (often caused by our own movement and not the elements) always causes a stir within Even a short-lived viewing through a water sprinkler's spray, can elicit the same To feel blessed by God to have such a promise written across the sky by His very "hand" is an inner phenomena. To have the moment in time to view a double rainbow, or to view a complete rainbow is to feel doubly secure. May you see a rainbow this spring and feel secure in this promise from God

Who has enjoyed the clear blue skies of the South West and realized they allow for clearing the head and mind of all the clutter of the day to day and gives impetus to begin again with a clean slate The cloudless medium teal blue skies -to a first time beholder- are surreal and can be euphoric in nature they can bring about imaginings never felt before Oh that we would all find such moments each day of our lives

What a beautiful home God has for us where birds find nooks and crannies and sparrows and swallows make their nests. They lay their eggs and raise their young And sing songs in the places where we worship. Those in whom He lives are blessed whose lives become the roads He travels. These paths that wind through lonesome valleys discover cool spring waters and come up to brooks- God-traveled roads that turn about the mountain and at last view: God Himself.

Springtime to Summer What a lovely time of year spring is. And summertime speaks to every child's heart as a time to play. Between the two, as the weather transitions, come violent storms and oppressive heat. When the weather becomes unstable for us outside, all we need do is come inside. God is everywhere, but we can sense His caring and hear His voice better when we aren't distracted by the storms of life. Leave the storms, and oppressive negatives outside, and come inside where God can comfort you.

Today I was inspired by a bird. Not a big one like the eagle or hawk, but by the smallest one that had found it's way down my chimney and into my room in the basement.
The frantic fluttering of the chimney swift aroused me...and I saw as this precious life tried to find a way out. This year I've been blessed by knowing such a little bird. The small soot-colored creature, a creature I have always feared because of something that happened to me when I was very young, found its way into my heart somehow. So each day I search for it...looking into the sky, looking into the furnace pipe that connects to the chimney...searching for this little wonder of mine. Its beak is not large like other birds, but almost nonexistent. It's terrified eyes rest on mine...it fears I will hurt it but I always sweep it up in my hands and send it on it's little way outside... Somehow I find inspiration in the eyes of this bird...how that is possible is beyond me but I do. ![]() |

I do wonder, when I release a butterfly I've captured from the screened patio, if they are traumatized or just consider it a part of their life.

<font color="darkblue">Lighthouses are beacons in our society
to help keep ships on course. Sailors rely upon them, and watch for them earnestly to help know the right path, especially in bad weather. Be a bright lighthouse when it comes to showing others what faith is all about. Others will see/hear............... but will notice: -they speak about love....... how do they treat each other? -they speak of forgiveness... do they hold grudges? -they speak of acceptance... will they take me in? -they speak of God.......... does he make a real difference in their lives? -they speak of caring........how do they treat the weak and the disadvantaged of society? This includes how you treat others of faith, too. ![]() Don't let your beacon become clouded, but shine brightly for all.

What beautiful imagery! I love this! I too, believe that our lives are a living testimony for others and our testimony should always be pleasing to God and a praise unto His name.
We should all remember this and strive to live it everyday. Thanks for the gentle reminder! |

New parents who have signed up to lead a den of cub scouts will soon fill a room and wait for information.
How exciting it is to be someone who has the answers for them, and can make them comfortable with their tasks at hand. Providing the instruments of crafts for the month's theme, laid out in bright colors and shapes hopefully will encourage them as much as it will give joy and fun for the cub scouts. Volunteering to help others, even if one of them is your own son, is a noble gesture of citizenship. Showing others how to teach and show by example the elements of morality and ethical decisions, while very basic at this level, is equally important at any age. Following the rules, understood and written, helps everyone get along. And children, you know, see everything you do, whether you wear a uniform and stand before them, or a houserobe in the kitchen cooking breakfast. Be the best leader you can be...you never know where your child will wander on his own.

Imagine walking along a sun drenched pathway surrounded by whispering pines hearing the crunch of pine needles with each step. Imagine walking along the beach warm sand squishing between your toes and softening each step... and being able to side step a bit and walk in the surf that laps at your toes listening to the sea gulls squawk nearby. Imagine softly swaying in a hammock while reading your favorite author's latest book birds tweeting from time to time and the breeze flowing gently about you. Instead, we find ourselves wrapped in the hurry and hustle of chores and worries noise and conflict. We can find a middle ground but we must look for it and secure it. You only make this journey once. Why not make the most of it?
