Figured there should be a new thread since the last one was made in 2016. I see many more people around the forums with schizoaffective now so maybe this sub-forum will start getting more visitors which would be cool

I'm doing well, very stable. Physically sick though, some kind of flu or bad cold, not sure. Pretty much spent most of the day resting.

I'm stable, meds work. I have a part time job, live alone. All is well. For the most part.

Depressed but the demons are pretty stable at the moment. Have IOP tomorrow and then school after. I have a little time between to eat lunch.

Worried about IOP because I SHed last night and was up all night at the ER. Slept most of the day today. Just now getting up from my nap and it's a little after 8pm.

I'm ready for it to be fall as well. It really won't get cold here for about two months.

Doing well today. Listening to a (free) audiobook (spending money unnecessarily is a big habit of mine I'm trying to cut down) on mindfulness by a fairly famous meditation teacher who has reached the mainstream. This whole mindfulness and meditation thing is helping quite a bit though. I also had class today and it went decently well.
Thanks for this!

I find mindfulness very helpful as well

I had a good day, roasted a pork loin for dinner and it came out really well, it was my first time cooking one. Finished up some artwork I was doing. Have been reading a lot. Feeling a little frustrated because it seems like I get worn out so fast even just from walking, I don't know if it has to do with my new meds or what but I'm trying to lose weight

My sleep seems to be back to normal thankfully. I've been doing a lot of art stuff, coloring books and drawing. I'm re-reading the Harry Potter series yet again lol perfect for the autumn. I want to get ingredients to make some butterbeer, there's several recipes I've found online for hot versions and cold versions.

My case manager is signing me up with a vocational rehabilitation program to help get myself a part time job since I really want one and feel ready for it.

I just got out of the hospital again and found out I lost 6 lbs and my hemoglobin a1c went down .4 points. Go me! I just wish a mixed episode hadn't CAUSED the weight loss and activity and good diet had.

Hi, I am new here. I struggle with voices. My psychiatrist and I have tried everything to get rid of them. Some days are better than others. My biggest struggle now, though, is with insomnia.

Otherwise, I am doing pretty well. I have been writing a new story and trying to work out more. I had a good therapy session today and finished some errands I had been putting off.

Like others, I am eager for fall to arrive. It is scorchingly hot here. I am a cool-weather person.

Welcome to the forum! I hope you're able to find something to help with the insomnia, I struggle with it as well

It's taken me a long time to find a combo of meds that really help with the voices so I hope you can find something to help with them too.

Glad you had a good therapy session

Thank you, @Blue_Bird! I have had a good experience so far here.

I have tried almost all of the med combinations possible, but I keep telling myself that something sometime will make them go away.

Sorry to hear that you also struggle with insomnia. I just got my first night's sleep after three nights awake. Trying for two in a row tonight.

As of yesterday I finally feel real again after 2+ days of not feeling real. I was {} <--- this close to hospitalizing myself. Luckily my husband was able to help me through.

My mood is better but still having psychotic symptoms. Took a Thorazine earlier and that helped, may just take my meds and go to bed soon. I only got 3 hours last night... I could use the sleep.

I havent had a full fledged episode in over 2 years. Sometimes I wonder if I'm still schizoaffective. Then I forget a dose and remember, yep- still got it.

hi everyone,
well we buried my much-loved dad on the 25th. My heart is broken over it.
QuietTulip, I understand how it is to have the voices everyday, i have had voices and visual effects since i was 10. We have tried literally everything sense 1981, so Thorazine and all those old meds too. Now if they snow me enough i can't remember but that is no life either. You can learn to deal with them and still carry on with your day. No hospitalization will stop them and sometimes no meds either, find that one or two meds that seem to calm the storm the best.
contact me anytime, Tams
