I guess I'm thinking in a better way, or my dr is gettin weird. He seems to be knowledgable, and is helpful with my problems.
Thanks for this!

It sounds to me like you're doing well. You have some great coping skills. That's where the solution lies IMO. You're not going to make all problems go away, but you can learn to cope with them. If they overwhelm you, you can ask for help.

That's cool

I want my psychologist to say that - instead of me disappointing her, she doesn't say that - she just doesn't want me to get lost.

My conversation always starts the same - "How are you?" "Yeah I'm ok"

Has anybody ever answered that question otherwise? It's so inane.

That's a weird thing for her to wonder. 'Yeah' is just one of those marker words people use to hold a place, like 'uhmmm' and 'eh' and sometimes 'like'.
Is she really posh or something? Usually the nurses aren't, it's the doctors who are. I dunno, posh mental health workers always get after me for speaking "poorly".

I'm glad you're doing better, brookwest! And yeah costello. Cool is definitely in the ears of the perceiver. I was born in the midwest, but for some reason-- to the ears of Floridians-- I sound Canadian! Hahaha it's kind of funny actually.
Thanks for this!

I don't have an accent.

My psych team say that I will have to take meds always.
I'm hoping it's not true. My creativity has been zapped.
Sometimes I feel a little foggy during the day, but for the most part
my symptoms are under control. That is except for the tardive
diskeneisia.I have that all day and every day. Even if I stopped
taking my meds.

Maybe you should get a second opinion. It couldn't hurt.

Thanks for the posts everyone. They were interesting to read.

I just open my mouth and let the thoughts fly toward the psychologist. It isn't rocket science. Enduring being without love and affection sometimes, that has taken effort and training.

Yeah, they will say that. It's how they're trained to approach the problem. I don't think it's true, because I got off meds in spite of what they said. I've known other people to do the same.

Somewhere around here there is a thread where people talk about the 'rule of thirds' with schizophrenia, where 1/3 of sufferers spontaneously recover for no reason, 1/3 make substantial improvements, and 1/3 are fairly ill their whole lives. So in theory, 1/3 to 2/3 of people should be able to spend substantial time off meds, or on extremely low doses.

That's what my therapist is always trying to get me to do, but I can't. I'm sorry you feel like you have to live without love, too. That's tough.

Ok, so are we doing ring around the rosey here?

Shay from midwest U.S. sounds Canadian.
Fish from Canadian sound Scottish.
And newtus from Texas says she's been talking with a British accent.

Dang! It's not a circle! We need a Brit who sounds like a Texas - not vice versa.

rotfl - Just got an image of someone from London who talks like George Bush.
