Whenever, I eat breakfast, it is light. e.g. toast or an orange. A big and/or greasy breakfast makes me feel ill and very full. After one of those, I won't eat anything for the rest of the day.

How long has it been since you switched meds? Maybe you just need a bit more time. Has your appetite decreased?

It can take a few months...basically however fast the weight went on expect it to come off that slow or slower.

Yeah I haven't lost any weight since decreasing my quetiapine/Seroquel. I noticed that my appetite decreased about 5-6 weeks ago, but I've been more depressed lately so am doing less, which probably accounts for no weight loss *sigh*

Did some research today for one of my exams, but now that means that I have to read it all and I'm finding it hard to concentrate and remember what I'm reading as I go through it. Same on here. Little posts are fine, but big ones without many paragraphs are hard work. I used to read so quickly and easily; it sucks!

Also I just realised that it's Friday today, and I have said that I'd go back to my Uni house on Sunday, which means only one day left - eek!

@ willow have you tried reading with a straight edge or view finder? (A view finder is a piece of paper or cardboard, cut a rectangle the width of the text out, can make it big enough for just one line, or several lines, your choice) it helps some people focus on the text better while reading. Also sometimes if I'm having trouble remembering, it helps me to read out loud.
Good luck to you! I know you'll do well. You're so brave to be trying and doing your best.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the support and advice Gr3tta

I do use a bookmark to block off the lines below what I'm reading. I also have text-to-speech software for my computer, which mostly helps, unless it's really bad, like now, when I forget the beginning of the sentence by the time I've gotten to the end of it, so I don't understand it. And journal articles like their acronyms and I can never remember what they stand for and so have to keep scrolling back to find out, which is very frustrating. On top of all that, when I know it's going to be hard, I struggle with the motivation to even attempt it, which isn't good. And if I do force it, I'm rewarded with a massive headache later on!

I have 2 stone to lose to return to pre-MI/meds me. I know it's not a huge amount compared with some, but I've never had to diet before cos I always stayed the same weight regardless of what I ate and did. I find exercise the hardest with the lack of motivation because, even if I'm really strict and return to what I weighed before (which I have before when I hadn't put on as much), I still don't have the same figure cos I'm all untoned. The thought of dieting AND exercising makes me want to crawl under a rock and cry

It's thundering here, which matches my mood currently

@willow ai ooooh acronyms! Hate them! I can at least sympathize. Couls you make yourself a master list of acronyms and have it next to you, so you don't have to flip back and forth?

If I feel like I'm not me then I must still be.
But its a highly unpleasant duality.

My favorite chicken Greedy Guts is missing. I think something got her today.

And the neighbor's dog barks at me constantly whenever I'm outside. It's getting on my nerves something awful.

So, my son called just as I was walking into the house upset about my chicken and the barking, and I snapped at him. He seemed to understand that it wasn't about him.

He skyped with his brother again today and told him about the sz dx. His brother said he didn't seemed like he had sz. What does he think a person with sz acts like?

That's what happened to my ducks, do you have them in a chicken wire pen or are they free range.

@ Costello: so sorry to hear that Greedy Guts is missing! That's just aweful! Many years ago when I lived with my "mean" granny she had chickens, goats, cows, geese, and ducks. She kept them in a very large and very tall wire fence enclosure. Even with that she had trouble with the neighbors dogs. It would upset her very badly when some of her chickens got taken. Hugs to you.

@Gr3tta: Good idea, thanks! I'm sorry that you're not feeling yourself at the moment Can you get out of the house into nature at all today? I find that going to my favourite place and touching tree trunks and smelling flowers makes me come back to myself i.e. I must be me because I can feel this and smell that etc.

I will warn you then that we lost both ducks in close proximity so keep an eye on the rest of your guys and lock them up as soon as it gets dark. Once a Predator finds easy prey they don't stop coming back until there's nothing to come back for. It's brutal.
