Today I fixed my first cuckoo clock. I've been working on it since Friday. It was in bad shape, very dirty and wouldn't run. I took it apart, cleaned it and did a few other repairs. Now it works and properly too. People warned me that it was going to be a tough repair. It wasn't that difficult. At times it was challenging. I actually studied the movement, sketched it and noted how the cuckoo was activated. Knowing how the parts move and work together really helped me figure it all out.

The highlight of my extremely crappy week was getting my new academic diary. It's soooo pretty! It's embossed too (the grey bits are raised). I'm such a stationery nerd!

The lovely little thread of happiness :)

It's an academic diary, not a plain notebook, but it's a page a day so would also work as a daily journal. Idk if you have WHSmith in Ireland, but here's the link:

A diary that follows the academic year i.e. in the UK Sept 2015 -August 2016, rather than a regular diary that runs Jan-Dec.

I'm in my indoor patio with rain drops, drip drop. I love the smell and sound of rain. I have my cat sleep right next to be too while having a cold beverage.

Right now I'm listening to Hearts. The new and improved version of Windows music player is so much better even if very buggy. Discovering new music you'd actually like was impossible. only the top 100 would be advertised.

This new version is trying to steal the pizazz away from Spotify the more I explore it. I'm quite impressed.

On Thursday my mom and I are going to a really good local Mexican restaurant. Their food is amazing, I'm excited. Haven't been there in forever. Anyway, I'll post pics of my drink and dinner after I go

My daughter climbed over into the front seat this morning and 'hid' scrunched down, so the people who get them from the cars couldn't see her. The big grin on her face over 'tricking' them was probably the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
