Yes the color just sucks up from the stem but it has to be a light colored flower....it's most common in carnations and daisies....

We did it in school years ago with daffodils and food colouring. It was fun!

I found out the other day that florists sometimes spray paint flowers too! I don't know how good it will look because I've never seen it done before, but we are having some flowers spray painted silver/chrome tomorrow, so I will take a photo and upload it for you guys.

These are the flowers I was on about:

The lovely little thread of happiness :)

The silver and black ones are spray painted, but the red/wine coloured ones are natural. I thought it came out really well, though they smelt really strongly of paint fumes for about an hour or 2 after they were delivered.

I dyed my hair with bright red splat dye. It's a bright pinkish red. I've never dyed my hair unnatural colors. I haven't even dyed my hair in 15 years. Every time I see it out of the corner of my eye, I smile.

I just cooked a meal from scratch which makes a nice change from all the ready meals I have these days. I made Roasted Butternut Squash & Sage Risotto. It was delicious & I have 1 more portion left for another day.

That's a big reason why I like Michigan. Everything is so Green and then it turns into this orangish, redish sea of trees everywhere you look. Then it gets ducking cold and the ducking snow comes and everyone forgets how to drive in the ducking icy roads, and you just stay in b/c who wants to get stuck in the snow?

I hate Michigan as much as I love it.
