What are some of the first line antipsychotics that have the most efficacy in treating the disorganized subtype of schizophrenia? There has got to be some research papers out there that cover this topic?
Lutuda has worked wonders in me, but I'm still not even close to 100%. I'm mulling over the ideal of adding on an additional antipsychotic, and I'm not sure what would be most effective for this. I'm hypersensitive to risperdal and seroquel, so those are out. I'm also unwilling to take anything that makes me gain weight, so zyprexa is out too. What's left, and what are some of the new ones out there that help with this? |

I struggle with the disorganization a lot myself. I don't have answers, I'm taking haldol right now but my pdoc wants to switch me to Latuda. I'm not doing horribly but I'm still nowhere close to 100% either.
Abilify and Saphris are both APs that I've taken before that didn't cause me weight gain and helped with the disorganization aspects of things. But I couldn't stay on either of them because they both caused me terrible akathisia. -.- |

Atypical Disaster, Latuda is a great medicine. For me its one that worked the best. Around 95% of the symptoms. It is extremely rare that I hear a voice, in fact near never, and the same with visual hallucinations. No side effects either, at least for me. Even though we are going through a HUGE amount of stressors, in the past meds wouldn't have worked at this point. I am not having many psychotic symptoms, they are more anxiety symptoms.
