I know of a family who has 3 girls. All 3 have the more severe form and have had several surgeries and one in a wheelchair. You have a mild form so that is good but yes, it can certainly give you headaches.

Sorry to hear about that Newtus.

My GP wants to call me next week, I have no idea why, can't be important or she would want to see me earlier, I just wonder if something else showed up on my blood test.

The stalkers are reminding me my time is running out as well.

You'd be surprised at how many structures of the human body have "tonsils" as part of their name!

What kind of blood tests are they doing? Are they checking to see if you are taking your meds, or if they are reaching a therapeutic level?

No not for that and I'm on depot so they know if I'm not turning up.

My blood test was to check if I was still anaemic and I am, the gp wouldn't want to talk to me about that, so I don't know why.

There was a off white/greyish looking van pulled outside I think it was transmitting signals in my brain the high pitched tones and weird sounds I was hearing and the overall dizzy weird feeling I felt went away after the van pulled off.

They would definitely want to talk to you about anemia, but having anemia is not always urgent. It does need to be treated though. A change in diet, or prescription vitamins are some of the ways it's dealt with. After you've taken vitamin D for a while, she may want to talk to you about coming in for another blood test to see where your D levels are and to see if good levels of D have corrected the anemia (D is powerful and affects a lot of other things). So waiting to give the D time might be the reason for the delay in her calling to have you come back in.

The malformation itself is where the tonsils of the cerebellum have herniated (or slipped down into) the foramen magnum which is a hole at the base of the skull. Chiari malformations are present at birth... It's not anything you did.

I am not aware of it making anyone more likely to have the symptoms of schizophrenia. It does, however, make the patient more vulnerable to developing epilepsy.

Hope this info helps!

thanks yea it helps.

that also explain why i bump into stuff a lot and am unbalanced. i always thought that was a symptoms of my schiz. i really did. cause i saw unsteady gait as a symptom of schiz on schozophrenia.com and some other websites before. that may explain partially why i almost broke my toe! or fully. im always bumping into stuff. or bumping my arms against door frames.

thats so weird how this me.

And Now you know! There is an explanation for it. If it is causing balance problems and bad headaches, then surgery is worth pursuing. It is brain surgery, but it is not an uncommon one and the benefits can far outweigh the very low risks. Since you're close enough to Dallas, you could look online to find out what surgeons in the area are 'known' for doing chiari. As far as hospitals, look for one that has a well developed neurology service. In my experience, 'teaching' hospitals are among the best, and they are usually good about accepting Medicaid etc. Get a consultation with a surgeon to talk about it. Find out everything you can.. because you can always back out of it at the last minute. That is your right.

Me too!

My mom had an MRI recently, and I looked at it. Didn't really tell me anything, but it was interesting anyway.

I'm a loner and love being alone. I read, watch tv, surf the Internet, hang out with my chickens, play video games, take my dogs to the dog park, take bubble baths. Those are the main things I do when alone.

It's not the being alone I struggle with it's occupying myself. I don't have many hobbies. I read too and watch stuff on tv but apart from that I don't do much. I wish I had dogs they're such good company

I love my dogs. They're so funny together.

Hobbies are tough. I'm trying to learn to make jewelry, but honestly it's not like it's the most fun thing in the world IMO.

My son took up running and juggling. He also likes to make music - rap and beats.

What do you normally do when people are around---other than talking and making out etc any of that can be done alone....

I like to cook---visit the farmers market for new plants----visit a conservatory, zoo see a movie etc. Usually for eating I'll stick with carry out rather than sit down because its seems lonely although you can read a book---I like to draw/paint---play the ukelele---surf the web---watch netflix----even if people aren't physically there you can chat on the phone for while or e-mail/text so they can respond when they do have time. I can't say I like to clean but I do that and laundry. I also read a lot and on occasion play video games.

When I am truly alone in the world then there are no other's to interfere. The world disappears and is replaced by my own world and perceptions. I can then control the world to form to my own will for there is noone else but I.

I think if I had a car it would be so much better because I'd be out driving places all the time but at the minute I don't so I'm stuck at home a lot. I do the same things I do with people like you said. I'm probably making out I'm worse than I actually am I get by I just wish I was a bit better at it. I read a lot now that I can again so I'm happy about that

I think it's great that you do things like that on your own. I used to go to town on my own but this last episode has knocked my confidence a bit I think
