Going really well. I do still have an occasional cig in the morning but not often. And mainly because I still have my tobacco here, but it tastes like crap. I highly recommend vaping.
Thanks for this!

OMG I feel like ****. I knew when she disappeared from FB that she wasn't doing well but I had no idea it was a life or death struggle.

Newtus, I was doing research I found a quote in Bertrand Russell's A History of Western Philosophy I liked:

"To teach how to love without certainty, and yet without being paralyzed by hesitation, is perhaps the chief thing that philosophy, in our age, can still do for those that study it."

I loved that. It was very humble.
Thanks for this!

I'm just taking a break from writing. I'm writing the darkest part of my story right now. It's about a philosophy who goes mad and how he handles the struggle and the strife. Right now I'm wrestling with the part that has to do with his Jungian shadow, which we all have, but we try to deny, hide, and repress. Yeah, I still use the oxford comma. What are you gonna do about it?

Yes it is by Bertrand Russell. It's in his introductory. Always read the introductory when it comes to philosophy. They almost always summarize bullet points of the idea their trying to get across. Here, he tells the difference between science and theology. Science tells what we can know, which is very little. And theology is based on things we can't possibly know. Whatever is inbetween is philosophy. I don't agree with Bertrand Russell's idea of philosophy, but that's partly because I'm not solely an analytical philosopher as he is. Don't fall into narrow categories. Strive in every direction, collecting ideas for your tool box.

Also, I can't believe you are going over Wittgenstein in an introductory course in philosophy. He is one of the greatest but most enigmatic philosopher the 20th century created. Scholars are still debating what he meant by his paragraphs. I don't have a primary text of his, but I do have a book called Wittgenstein's psychology, it was by Malcolm Budd I believe. The only thing I remember is The Beetle and the Box idea. And how the limits of our words are the limits of our world. Furthermore, how he believed there were no problems in philosophy, because he believed he solved it.

I once had a Wittgenstian professor who taught philosophy of mind. Great man. I couldn't grapple with Wittgenstein, even after frequent visits to his office. Wittgenstein is one of the greatest philosopher's of our time and he is what analytical philosophy gave birth to. He worked with Bertrand Russell and knew G.E. Moore.

I'm bored. I killed some time by writing out on the 14 pages of AISH disability but i have no motivation to care about it so I faxed it to my mom. I don't like writing about how I'm disabled. I'm not. Society is disabled. I just want a better start on life because I was suicidal during both jobs and paranoid. Vyvanse isn't doing anything. The dose is too low even with my methylphenidate tolerance it's worse than a placebo.

But if it works on 70-90mg, it's covered by AISH. They don't want to cover concerta for some reason :/

we seem to be only going over a few pages of him wittgenstien. not too much. but nonetheless we are going over him. this truth chapter is shorter than the other chapters. the longest chapter was soc/poli philosophy and ethics and epistemology/knowledge.

i know this truth chapter is going to be very very very hard for me. just reading the summary of the chapter doesnt hold me. i mean i feel lost just reading the summary.

i dont think we are covering logic in this 101 class. but im sorta glad. logic would be very hard for me.

Newtus, have a dictionary in hand, and mark down the meaning to each word in the text that you don't understand. Philosophy is dependent on deep, slow reading. You can't bust through it. May I ask which text you are using? The text will really say something about the professor.

I love la croix, however adding it to kimchi has not, until now, crossed my mind. I'll let you know if I try that.

That was my lunch, kimchi and celery, and la croix. If I could get away with drinking at work.. I might try that.
