Hello everybody. Last night a transformer blew up and my power went out. It was kind of neat to do stuff by candlelight. Just a few more weeks and all this getting up at 10 will be through. How's everyone doing today?

I'm doing good today thanks Door... just enjoying a cup of tea (how British of me) and a peanut butter & jelly sandwich (how American of me) whilst doing diddly squat.

I'm about to do a MRI soon. The doctor originally said wait like four weeks to see if it gets better, but people I know tell me that I need a MRI ASAP because it could get worse. So I'm going to call a spine doctor.

Well, worrying won't do anything to help or change the outcome. Try to let the worry and fear fall off of you, like soap in the shower. Good luck with the appointment!

That's a good idea. Do you have any orthopedics in your area? That's how I found out on my first visit. They did X-rays in office. They didn't need a MRI to see how little my disc was. I need a MRI for my shoulder but I can't even handle open mris. I panic. So the doctor tells me I have to go to a hospital to get fully sedated and so that they can change monitor my breathing and vitals. I had one scheduled and like 2 days before it was supposed to be, they called and said I had to pay almost $400 when I arrived. There was no way I could afford that and it makes no sense. Plus it was at a hospital that was an hour away when theres one within walking distance of my house.

Thank you. I'm trying not to but I can't fall back asleep and I don't really have any distractions.

The hospital and the doctor I went to didn't do anything except give me pain meds. My neighbor knows a spine doctor. She goes to him. And her dad knows the MRI place owner and I could get a discount because a MRI would be like $600 because I don't have insurance. Deep down I hope it's something serious, so my family would feel bad for saying I fake it to get pills for my boyfriend's mom and little sister. But if it is serious, I don't know how I will pay for treatment.

I so know your wanting about your family. Do they not have any sliding scale spinal doctors anywhere close to you?

Wow, are we really almost done with roll call 59?! lol

I found out that I got the job I interviewed for. So I'm happy about that. But I'm also terrified...what if I can't make it financially? What if the stress is too much? I'm going to see my T today, so hopefully we can discuss some of this. Also, she is in the same practice as my pdoc. I am going to see if I can get in to see him today. He has squeezed me in before. If I can see him, I'm going to ask for a script for zyprexa. A temporary measure while I adjust. I can't afford to be depressed while I adjust to my new life, and zyprexa is remarkably effective against depression for me.

to you all!

I believe diddly squat is also an American thing. You're leaning today, try doing bugger all and perhaps contemplate something more British, like kfc for dinner. That will give you a good balance.

I hate when appointments get moved on me. I'm sorry they did that to you. Hope your things come soon. I ordered a sailor moon/princess peach mashup t-shirt for my daughter, and I can't wait till it gets here.

Hi Door! I'm not doing too bad today, though slept for an embarrassingly long time, I think it's my depot increase finally kicking in.

I'm glad you embraced the positives of the power going out. I usually get really freaked out and miss my broadband terribly. We have a complicated relationship me and my broadband!
Thanks for this!

I'm freaking out because it's the second attempt today and there's construction going on outside on the street and I'm never going to get my stuff. I'll have to take a cab to pick it up. And the noise from downstairs is pounding in here. I feel like crying.

Not going to lie, I missed the wifi too. My daughter instantly flipped out, so I had to try to show her that total darkness isn't so bad. We also went outside to see what happened and got to see some stars. I was, however, vetoed in a stroll around the block.

I'm glad you're doing better today. Having just seen the minions movie, I found that incident in Dublin to be quite amusing.

that sucks that there's so much noise going on. Do you have any headphones that could muffle it a little? Is your stuff coming ups, or usps?

I'm so scared. If I disappear, it means I'm in the hospital. I can't stop shaking and crying.

Don't be scared, just think of all of us here rooting for you. Do you have your phone available? If so, just check in as often as you can. You can get through it.

Headphones wouldn't do it. UPS. If it were USPS I wouldn't get it either because they never deliver packages here. I'm just in despair today. It's a bad day.

ive been debating hard for two weeks whether i should goto my ghetto city library or not. i just dont like the idea of renting books when i can get itunes cards and get them on my ipad now or goto a discount bookstore nowadays.

plus this library is not condusive to relaxation. its all bright and white. i miss my old community college library that was dark and had nooks and crannies and lots of chairs and red carpet and jeffersonian columns. even the university i want to goto library not even as good as it.
