That's a shame, I barely exercise because of sheer laziness. I put my lack of motivation down to not being well but I can't just use that as an excuse. I take my health for granted, I'm sure you'd love to be able to go for a walk. I'm the same re being on the internet. I can't even watch a film from end to end without checking something on the internet. My focus is terrible, again I could blame it all on ADHD but that's just an excuse.

Hi everybody! I've been lurking and reading. There are so many new regular posters I've been trying to get to know!
To answer the current question, i usually get 4-6 hours of broken sleep. My night meds are supposed to knock me out, but they dont.
Also, to clarify, i have DID, but i also have depression with psychosis. Additionally, one of my alters is psychotic and may be schizophrenic according to my therapist.
Thanks for this!

So some people get quite a few hours sleep >=10 and some get very little <6. That's really interesting. I suppose it depends on a variety of factors but I would have thought once you where on anti psychotics the sedative properties would have everyone in the >=10 mark.

Not for me on Abilify I guess. No sedative properties that I can tell.

I attribute my sleep to ambien. Without it I sleep an hour or 2. With it I sleep about7.5 hrs during the school yr and about 9 while the kids are on vacation. Left alone I can and have slept 12+ hrs

I used to get like almost 7 but lately it's been getting less and less it's more like 5 but I've had periods before (while mentally unwell) where I would get at most 3 and sometimes none.

I'm sure I read somewhere that people who were acutely unwell with psychosis would have their sleep interrupted and sometimes delve into insomnia. I know when I was really bad I wouldn't get much sleep, but I'd always get at least 3 hours or so, I'd never go days without sleep unless I was keeping myself up for whatever reason. Would other people find this too?
Thanks for this!

Yep. The stalker (who wasn't there) would keep me up until I dropped from exhaustion and then often "wake me" too. So on those cycles I'd get anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. I often kept myself up with lots of coffee to keep from being tortured.

Didn't he say he was going on vacation somewhere, or did I imagine that?

Yeah, I never had so much problem getting to sleep even when my voices were louder but often I would feel they "woke me" too. During periods of worse psychosis I generally would be waking up anywhere between 3-4am unable to get back to sleep because of the voices. Thankfully I don't generally hear voices when I wake during the night anymore...

Yes! Me too, although since switching to the generic of Abilify I've been having more of those hallucinations before falling asleep. I wish they'd stop. I can't believe my mind would do this to me.

How long have you been on the generic now? I'm sure it'll level out given time...

I was given a different generic of my risperidone this time but I'm not really noticing any differences thankfully.

That's good. I've been on the generic about 16 days now. I don't want to go up in dose because it feels so complicated to get it now that the telemed companies are refusing to prescribe it. I can't believe what's going on with drugs being so hard to get here so suddenly.

I got a new med case, it's got 4 rows.Morning, afternoon, evening, and bedtime. Monday through Sunday. I think it will help me because now that I've got it all set up, I don't really have to put much thought into looking for my meds (the bottles etc) which leaves me less time to argue with myself over whether I should take them or not

I use a med case too. It helps me a lot. Otherwise i would never keep them all straight and i know i would miss doses. I set them up on every Sat night so i have a routine.
I have one (non-psychiatric) med i have to take anytime i eat anything. Thats the only one i have trouble with. I keep it in the kitchen so hopefully i will see it while making food.

Today, my boyfriend went to my aunt's to pick up my car because my uncle is a mechanic and my car had a problem with the radiator. First, my aunt snapped at him and said "Why isn't she getting the car?" And my boyfriend accidentally told her that I was getting medical records for disability and she says "Oh, she finally admits that she's crazy?"

Yeah, I finally admit I'm crazy...
