i think for that they would put you in a psych hospital.

I think I agree with newtus

I see my p-doc at a psychiatric hospital, as an outpatient. I have however noticed a door at the hospital which says "Clozapine Clinic".

I assume that's the sort of reason it's there. AFAIK, you need bloods taken regularly with Clozapine to check for low white blood cell count. So I'd imagine they need to do that to begin with too.

I hope it works well for you though, there is someone I've seen posting on roll call occasionally who swears by it but can't remember who.

it'll be a psych hospital.

And like loial said, theyll check your white blood cell counts for a bit, making sure they dont go down

Clozapine - by the numbers - is the most successful antipsychotic. Just ahead of Risperdal and Abilify if I remember right. Problem is, it has bad side effects, especially the low white blood count one.

IIRC, it goes Clozapine, Olanzapine, Risperidal/Ablify etc. or something like that...

My psychiatrist says there have been studies which show that Clozapine is the only AP that is any more effective than the other atypicals. The difference in effectiveness between the others is so slight it's almost negligible. All it comes down to is whether they work for you or not.

Apparently there have been a couple of studies somewhat recently that highlighted that. He said it's pretty disappointing because each new atypical essentially is meant to be a game changer, but never lives up to hype.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Yeah I've gotta have weekly blood tests at first to check my white blood cell levels and they won't prescribe any more medication unless everything is OK. I've read the side effects can be pretty bad but I guess I'll just have to wait n see

It's the peeing in the bed and excess saliva that I don't want. I like sleeping so that part won't be too bad lol

Good afternoon. I slept all day. This is becoming a habit. Maybe it's the depression. I'm already on the max dose of Effexor. Maybe I need to switch. Or maybe the haldol makes me more tired than I initially thought. 4 Mgs in the am and pm doesn't seem like much. Who knows. Felt good to sleep though. Hope everyone is having a good day

DBT helps alot of people with maladaptive coping skills. I know some people IRL that have benefited greatly from it. Though more people just grow out of it.

Yeah it didn't really suit me because my self harm was always related to the microchip as opposed to emotional distress. I did self harm for a while as a teen and once as an adult, as a coping mechanism but as I said I think I grew out of it. I was in DBT for a while though and I seen how well people got on and how much they were getting out of it. Not really suitable for psychosis though.

Wish you the best with it!

Got my injection. Never hurt like this one. He put it in less of an angle and I felt the liquid kinda not going into the right tissue.. oh well *dies of OD*.. My psychologist mentioned something interesting..

I told him about when I was 16 in my first psychosis, I was only sleeping a few hours a night for months.

He's up to date on this and says that it basically potentiates psychosis but if the lack of sleep and stress was in the late 20's, it mostly turns into bipolar which makes sense because it says the genes are connected.

My cousin is SZA and probably manic and she's doing naked bungee jumping for schizophrenia awareness o.o'
