When I first started taking anti depressants I felt like my brain was boiling. It wasn't pleasant. SSRIs and SNRIs are the first line of defense for panic attacks and anxiety. But with my bipolar tendencies I was taken off them and put on a high dosage of lamictal which also took waay my panic attacks and stopped my bad depression.

I'd give it three weeks to see if it starts to work unless it gets unbearable. In that case, call your doctor and see what you should do, if you have to tapper off it and if you can try another ssri or snri. I had a girlfriend that was on Cymbalta and she loved it. It didn't give her sexual dysfunction either. Sexual dysfunction is a common side effect with SSRIs but maybe not so with SNRIs. Definetely not with mood stabilizers like lamictal.

Newtus, if you notice yourself becoming extremely angry, like with road rage, tell your doctor you might be experiencing mania and you might need to get off of it immediately. That happened to me and I stayed on it however and it worsened until ibecame full blown bipolar 1 symptons.

sorry about your dad.
I'm surprised they didn't put you on a mood stabilizer.

The top side effect for Cymbalta is nausa. That's not a good sign. Cymbalta is an SNRI, another SNRI is Effexor, but it's very stimulating. I had no side effects other than it felt like I was on caffeine. At first it was difficult to fall asleep. If you do try this take it in the mornings.

Hope you're okay! Allergic reactions to medications can be pretty serious. Smart to go to a hospital just in case.

Good morning everyone. Have an exciting day of napping ahead. I'm exhausted. I hate mornings like this. Hopefully my mind will shut off so I can sleep.
I hope you all have a good day.

I feel much better physically than the past two days. They gave me a bunch of meds in the ER.

Not looking forward to being home alone this weekend tho.

I called my clinic and told them what happened with the medication the doctor gave me.

They had the nerve to ask me if i was going to continue taking it. Like, why would i still take it if i got so sick from it and my lips swelled up?
