Hyperthyroidism Overview - Overactive thyroid makes too much thyroid hormone

It’s probably from the thyroid medicine you’re taking. You didn’t have issues on geodon before....too much thyroid hormone and your hands shake etc.

Dammit. The med I was taking for GERD was recalled (Zantac/ranitidine) because it can cause cancer. I was just about to go to my doctor to get a refill because I ran out several months ago and my acid reflux is getting bad again.

I'm doing alright. I had to use tons of coping skills but I got through the day. I'm not sure what to do. I don't see my doctor till mid November but the anxiety and panic is unmanageable. I can't be relying on klonopin all the time, there's gotta be something I can take long term. I don't know if I should call tomorrow or not. I'm in a nearly constant state of dread the past month and I'm not sure how much longer I can deal with it. I generally try to wait things out but it's not improving

I'm sorry for complaining lately. My anxiety hasn't been so bad for years

I'll just do my best to get through the next few weeks and bring it up at my appointment

You don't have to apologize. We are all dealing with something.

I don't even like peaches! I want to keep roasting this terrible book but that's not my entire point. The point is that we, as humans, need to find books that custom suit what we are moved by.

The first great book I read was Ender's Game. A book about a kid genius who suffers isolation in order to grow in creativity in combat. What I learned is that I enjoy books where the character is of higher intelligence that is meant to suffer to become more than who he is now. It's part of the "hero's journey" found in great literature. A common book me and SP love is The Name of the Wind. Again a protagonist of higher intelligence that must encounter suffering for the sake of overcoming to forge his steel. Homer's Odyssey has a lot of the same makings and it was written like 2,700 years ago! If you do enjoy this formula I recommend googling genius protagonists and a goodreads.com list will be found and check out those books.

However, that might not be your jam. And that's cool. I started my journey reading with the Great Books of Western Civilization works to give me focus. I read most of them. The only downfall is that female writers are slim. Still, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein is in the top 10, a must. But theres just not enough o them, or people of color. So there is a limitation or a flaw.

So what moves you? Why do you want to read? What are you looking for in a book exactly? Fiction, nonfiction, biographies? I need to read more biographies.

What I find interesting, and what you find interesting, might be vastly different though. Part of my trick to focus on reading is the setting I choose. I often go without my laptop to a café, library, or bar and put my ear buds in.

If you don't have an electronic/instrumental playlist that helps you focus, you can always use mine on Spotify! I'll link you to it if you want to check it out.

The point is that you don't want to be distracted by the ubiquitous screen found everywhere. It kills focus.
Thanks DT. Means a lot.

I feel anxious rn so I'll reply later when I'm better.

I tried a meditation mp3. I used to use it a lot a couple years ago and it always helped me. I need to start doing progressive muscle relaxation again too

I woke up at 930 (which is early for me) but then ended up going back to sleep until noon.

I hate that I always sleep in.

Yea the cleaning was an hour and a half. It hurt so much, I wanted to cry. She said because I never floss there was decay under my gums and it was like little rocks. It was so painful.

I'm on day 1 of no nicotine! (Been cigarette free for 3 months).

@Day Tripper I'll give The Name of the Wind and Enders game a read. First I want to read Alan Watts - Way of Zen cuz I have it bought already.

I've been interested in spiritual type esoteric philosophy and eastern philosophy but not really interested in studying a whole religion.

I'm interested in fiction and science fiction more than non-fiction. That's just kind of where my mind goes.
