I am constantly worrying about something or someone every single day. I feel stressed out and anxious most of the time.

I have tried distraction methods but for me they are only a temporary fix. My mind wanders alot and I am easily distracted.

Can you please give me step-by-step instructions on how to stop myself from worrying about something or someone every single day? Thank-you!

Please consider relaxation/guided imagery/autogenics. You can find very helpful CD's at this site: www.wholeperson.com. I have a CD from there called "Warm and Heavy"

http://www.wholeperson.com/x-relax/r...hor-Warm-53555

that I use nearly every day. There are other CD's from the site that I use also. It's nice to have a variety and when practiced every day it helps so much.
Other CD's I have and use are "Relax...Let Go...Relax" and "Natural Tranquilzers". I especially like the guided imagery "Soothing Colors" and the autogenic "Calm Down".
Thanks for this!

((Zen)))) worry is probably a natural condition for people, faced with all the things that might go wrong, could go wrong and we sometimes overwork ourself trying to think of every possible scenario that might occur and it is easy to feel overwhelmed and slip into thought patterns of helpless insignificance... not everyone can solve everything, not you or i, or any member here... what is great about PC is the way we each contribute a little to the whole... follow those who seem to have the answer you are searching for in this moment, others are working on thier own stuff and the beauty of PC is that there is an expert in almost every department to help you find your way... so dont worry about worrying too much, a percentage of it is normal... i think what you want to do here is not learn how to stop worrying, but learn how to manage worry in a healthy way... Echoes has some excellent links and ideas and i will only add a link to a certain meditation i use that was recommended to me by a prominent member of PC (Spiritual_Emergency)

I remembered when I worried too much... I participate in 7-night-meditation course. It helped.

The course let us practise mindfulness meditation in every actions we do like eating, taking a bath, walking, etc.

I am glad to see this thread get bumped up today. Thanks Sally.

I found another great resource tonight from the self esteem thread. I referenced it on another thread just a few minutes ago but will add it here too.

http://cmhc.utexas.edu/stress.html

It is targeted at university students and offers some great exercises and tips including what they call 'Stress Recess' tips.
Thanks for this!
