Got some energy tonight and moved my dvd shelf to - hey! near the dvd player! What a concept! - and moving a bookcase into its old spot. About halfway thru.

I have a kitchen step stool thingie where its a chair! Its a step stool! That i keep by the sink. Otherwise yeah my back will hurt if i am there a long time. It is such a tiny kitchen - i cant exactly do everything from one spot, but i can prepare my "mise en place". Just because we're messy, dont mean we aint fancy!
Thanks for this!

Lol, so true. I need to clean, my therapist is coming today. I'm just so unmotivated. I think it's the zyprexa, but if I take less than I don't sleep. Ugh! I wish I would get hypo! Then I can get so much more done. And it's like the adrenaline from the hypo makes my back hurt less. I'm gonna try the 15 minute rule...

I want to try getting a whole bunch of stuff done tomorrow. I don't know if I can discipline myself enough to do it but I'd like to try...I'm just going to make a long list, do it in order, and see how far I get.
6:30 shower/coffee/feed pets
7:00 walk
7:30 glue cat door
8:00 LH bank statement
8:20 Trust bank statement
8:40 fertilize grass
9:00 clean back porch
9:30 clear off kitchen counter
9:45 straighten right side of garage
10:00 check back in here and make more list

How did it go, go me? Must be nice to be somewhere where you can actually *see* grass, never mind fertilize it

I got the dishes done, finally, (but then made more). Doing laundry now but still haven't put away what I washed a few days ago. My major accomplishment today was vacuuming the entire downstairs and shaking the rugs out. So Much Sand.

Not sure what's next. Thinking about heading into the studio for a few hours before lunch, but I need to get dressed for that.

It's 6:30 am here so I just started my schedule. It feels good knowing I don't have to figure out what I'm doing.
Good job getting the house vacuumed! For laundry folding, I like talking on the phone to distract myself while I do it.
Thanks for this!

It always seems to work that way! But don't be discouraged, any progress is good, it gets you closer to where you want to be!

I went through bags of mail and receipts and organized my files of bills and financial records yesterday. Moved 2014 stuff to a filing box for storage and set up new files in the file box for 2015. Then I filed my tax return (needed toget other stuff done so I could get medical receipts for taxes). I have another bag and one box to go through of paper and mail crap and then I'm all caught up. But I have to let that go for today cause I need to finish laundry and grocery shop. I can pace myself now without giving up. No all or nothing any more!

7:00 walk Done
7:30 glue cat door Part way done

Well, better late than never right? I relate with Stargazer that things seem to always take me longer than I expect them to. I ran into trouble with installing the cat door… of course so that isn't all the way finished yet. I need the glue to dry on the first part before I do the last part but I should be able to get that done. When I fertilized the grass, I discovered that I have two broken sprinkler heads. Add those to the to do list, too.
Now I've got to decide what to do next and part of me doesn't want to do ANYTHING. I think I'll just make a random list and see how far I get.
Garage: Front section
Garage: First shelf
Garage Second shelf
Garage Third shelf
Garage Tool area
Bathroom door trim
Finish cat door
Invoice #1
Invoice #2
Get rid of paper pile by desk
Finish LH tax stuff
Make bed
Replace 2 broken sprinklers

I don't think I can get all that done today but I'll start chipping away and see how far I get. It amazes me how much stuff there still is to do.
Thanks for this!

I got about half of the rest of the items done. I think I'm going to have to call it a day. I just wish I could get everything completely caught up. I get close and then life comes along and makes more to do!

I dont do quite as much work on t days but this is spring break week so i do want to get the backlogged laundry all done while the building is empty.

Soon I'm going to have to tackle the kitchen counter. There's a five pound bag of sugar on there that is 5 years old which I haven't thrown out yet because I always think it's too heavy for the trash bag. But I'm going to bite the bullet and throw it out. Once I have, it won't be too hard to clear off the rest of the junk.

I like to read this thread on low motivation days as 1) it inspires me to get something done! and 2) I don't feel so alone as others feel like me

Well anyway I am going to list my to do's for today and see how I get on!

1. dishes
2. wipe down coffee tables
3. tidy away paperwork and kids toys
4. hoover upstairs
5. quick shop for essentials like milk, bread, toilet paper...
6. lovely soak in the bath
7. revise for driving theory test
8. prepare dinner for when hubby gets home.

keep going everyone, each step is a step forward.....

Good job everybody!
Verity: how did it go with your list?
Hank steer- great job on the closets!!
Angelique- how is your kitchen counter?
Stargazer- when it comes to cleaning, etc, I find that the motivation to do it rarely comes first. I almost never feel inspired to do whatever it is. Usually my feelings are negative- it feels like it will be a huge effort, exhausting, boring, etc... But for me, feeling good comes after. I used to think I should feel motivated - now I just accept that I have to make myself get going and the good feelings come once I'm done.
Thanks for this!

Well - I guess it's time to get something out of the way for the day. I'm going to do 30 minutes of paperwork stuff that I'm not excited about doing. I'll let you all know once I'm done.

I did more than 30 minutes. I did 60. The pile is much smaller now. I likely need to put in one more hour to eliminate it completely.

Wow, I had to go through three pages of productivity to get caught up! Everyone is on a roll!

I have added a part-time job to my mix and coping with the schedule change has been hard. On the one hand, I feel like I am more productive in some ways because I am less likely to fool around when I have free time and more likely to work on my to-do list... and I have less time to make messes... but the house is still incredibly trashed from being too tired/lazy to pick up anything.

Today I have a family thing and about 100 things to do... and have spent the first three hours of the day on the internet...

So my goals for this morning:
Get ready for the reunion
Clean what I can
Thanks for this!

Okay. Went to the party, did some laundry, filled up two trash bags with sheets and pillows that are in poor condition... got a new pair of glasses (and feel like I paid WAY too much for them - are glasses really that expensive nowadays? They cost $300 and they weren't even bifocals. I picked the cheapest frames they had. It's been about five years since I bought any but it was my first time at Lenscrafters.)

This evening I need to hang my sweaters, do some more dishes, more laundry...
Thanks for this!

I did everything on the list today but felt exhausted and slept for nearly three hours. Maybe it's the time change. The day felt like it was gone before it really got started.
Hvert: I'm not sure about the glasses. I get mine at Costco. I think they are a little cheaper but not by much. Good job on such a productive day.

Tomorrow:
Walk 20 mins, Flying lesson, Ride horse, Schedule trim at house, Paperwork 30 mins

Well started doing dishes and my back is on fire already. I'm gonna stretch once it calms down. Took some ibuprofen and muscle relaxers...Ugh!

Goals today:
Do dishes and scrub counters down.
Pick up living room and vacuum at least the living room and hallway.
Write out a good schedule to follow daily.

Yesterday I did 3 loads of laundry. Luckily I don't have many clothes, but my son does. He's 19 so he does most of his laundry. But I gave him a break. He was very appreciative. He's a nice young man...Well most of the time.

Wish me luck!
