I would like to lose 50 pounds total but my mini goal is to lose 20 pounds by the time we pack up and move in early June. I'm on a very restricted diet due to my kidneys but I could use to exercise more even if I have to use my walker. Maybe getting the blood pumping more will help with weight loss.

Good luck to everyone working hard to lose weight as well.

From there I'll probably set a new goal, but it's been so long since I was under 200 lbs, just that would feel amazing!
Sounds like a great goal! What's your plan for loosing it? I love to hear people's ideas / strategies.

I like your mini-goals because it breaks it down instead of being a huge looming number. Good luck with your weight loss and move in June.

I've been trying to get up early to workout before work, as many days as I can. I'm also working towards writing meal plan, especially since I eat most meals at work.

It's a little better at this job than ever before - I don't start work until 10am.

I wanna lose about 150 over the next almost 3 years. However, if I lost 100 I be pretty happy. So, we'll see. Slowly switching to gluten free vegan in the meantime. Its gonna take about 7 months to fully make the switch the way I'm doing it. Hoping this time it'll become more of a lifestyle change than a fad-type diet.

I would like to lose about 30 pounds. I lost 60 in the last year mostly due to depression. Now my mood is much better but I want to eat and it is hard work. I am determined not to put my weight back on and that is more important to me than losing the rest.

Pardon me, but I've been a freethinker for 50 years. I don't see that as a diagnosis, I see that as a gift.

I was really surprised when at the doc's yesterday, I had lost 4 pounds in 20 days! I am committed to losing 50 total, 20 by May 1, 2016.

I am a diabetic and psych meds have made me fat but he took me off those particular meds yesterday. I need to lose the weight and get my sugar down also. I really believe that exercise will help my depression too. And maybe I won't feel and look so old. There is no reason not to do it: my apartment is just across the parking lot from me, and the air-conditioned gym that no one ever goes to is never used. I can take my radio and work until I am done.

I went to the thrift store today and got a Tshirt big enough for me and I have a pair of ugly sweat pants that I'm going to cut into capri length and those will be my workout clothes.

I begin March 1. I'll be back with results. As of today I weigh 174.

I am now at 186.4lbs I am now 30. I am wanting to go down to at least 126lbs if possible but we will see. If I could do more stuff training at home for a bit, that'd be ideal but it's too small. I am almost there!

Tomorrow is my start date. I will eat salad. Once piece of bread with turkey, drink water, only, and walk on the treadmill. I will make an Excel page to track it all.

I was to begin today but did not. I need to write things down. I don't remember the night before when I wake up. I blame the meds but I need to start doing right so I will now make a list and put it on the table of what I'm going to do to change tomorrow. I know the #1 thing is to buy a coffee maker and some coffee and make and drink it. I don't drink coffee, but I know it works to wake people up and keep them up! I have the food plan going already because of diabetes but I need to just put the right clothes on and walk across the parking lot and go to the apartment complex gym and work out. Tomorrow night I will post what I accomplished.

I had a stressy week and that meant I didn't eat much to begin with but today I have been grazing at bits here and there.

TheOriginalMe - I have trouble eating through the day as well. I've had to put alarms in my phone to remind me. Even then, my appetite isn't always up to par. I've found fruit and a protein are the best snacks though. Good luck with your eating!!

Dear Ms Joggers,

I just wanted to update you on my saga of a life!

I ordered from the Mayo Clinic The Diabetic Diet Book. This will really help me more than any other diet book as it won't feature foods and recipes that I cannot have and should have a lot of information as it 217 pages long.

Along with it comes a journal where I track everything for 10 weeks. My doctor is very excited about me taking this initiative.

I started insulin 2 weeks ago and have already gained 4 pounds! I am going to control what goes in my mouth so insulin will be unnecessary.

Lastly, I called the gym right across the street and go on Wednesday for my orientation. It is really great because my insurance pays for it as long as I go at least 8 times a month. Can you believe that? It is open 24 hours which will be helpful to me as I can't sleep at night and I can do my work
outs then. I like the idea that there will be few people there to see me. I may only, at first, be able to walk the treadmill for 5 minutes before I need a break and some water and then start again, and I would hate for people to see that.

It is a very safe neighborhood and it has an electronic key so no one gets in unless they are a member and a staff person is always there.

Today my depression is lessened. I think it is because I'm excited about this new program. The exercise will also really improve my mood, I'm sure.
Maybe someday (and I mean it) I may have toned arms like Michelle Obama.

Let me know how you are doing!!

I gained a lot of weight due to side affects of a medicine I was taking and am looking to loose about 30 pounds. I was thinking it would be fun to have like minded people on the journey. I plan on riding my bike each day and counting calories through an app on my phone.

How much do you want to loose? How are you hoping to achieve that goal?

Let's encourage each other along the way.

Have you ever heard of nutri bullet? You fill it with plenty of leafy green and you can use frozen fruits it doesn't have to be fresh. I replaced one meal a day with a big drink and in 8 months with just doing this I lost 18 pounds with no exercise except what I did on the job. I'm sure if you add exercise you will lose more weight faster. If your not a breakfast eater that might be the ideal time to use the nutribullet. Thought I would put this out there.

I don't have a final goal weight in mind. But I've set a few short-term goals. When I reach them I am going to reward myself with buying something nice. It will be good to learn to reward myself with something other than food.
