My asked me today what where my cuts from, she saw the one on my shoulder which is a pretty bad one which really is scared right now and she saw the one on my arm, and all I said was that I don't know thats the one on my shoulder as for the one on my arm I said it was the dog who did it, although I don't think she believes me though, at this point in time I don't think she shouldknow about what I do.

Hi! Have you ever heard of "once a mother-always a mother"?
Well..that certainly describes me. Please consider the torture your Mom might be going through. I'll bet her mind is working overtime right now. I am for disclosing this to her. Just my own opinion. Please consider being totally honest with her.

I would suggest to let your mom in to how much pain you are going through. I'm sure she will be open enough to understand that your actions are the result of this pain.

I am a mom also. I know the most important thing to me is to protect my son. You may be surprised how caring she may be. She is one who can find you the help you need. I think you should tell her but be prepared to confront your reasons for cutting. I hope it goes well should you decide to do this. Good luck. You can always pm me should you need someone to talk to.

i agree with the others, maybe she can help in some way to allieviate the very real pain you are feeling, you might not stop but having someone out there looking out for you, someone you can talk to, someone to confide your fears with can be a great help, you will never know til you give it a try,
