((((((((((((((carrie))))))))))))))))) i am so sorry you are going through such dark times. I have been there myself. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone, and I am hearing you. Sometimes it is good to focus on your five sense and get yourself into pleasurable sensations, such as smelling a nice fragrance, or looking at pretty pictures, or taking a nice warm shower/bath (if your SI doesn't sting too much from it), or listening to music or sounds you like, or even (as long as you dont have problems with comfort eating), eating a tasty snack, like a piece of candy or chocolate if you like. Those are some things to ground me back into reality and not focus on the bad SI thoughts as much. Not like it will cure you, but maybe it will help ease the suffering just a little if you try. I'm really not sure how much coping skills you have already tried or if any of this would help you. But I've got nothing to lose to share this. Take care, Carrie, and I hope you find some more pleasure and good things that motivate you to get out of bed.

thank you krisakira sometimes just knowing im not alone lifts my spirits a little. trying to distract myself/enjoy movies during these times helps keep my mind occupied.it doesnt bring me back to reality but it does help me forget those thoughts
going to see my T tomorrow so im looking forward to that in a way.
hope you're well today

Really hard for me to talk about it though,it's a very personal matter to me. In ways I guess I don't want to give it up even though I know it's crazy saying that

I can understand how you wouldn't want to give it up, it is a way of coping for you. But if you talk about all of these things in therapy, you can learn how to deal with your feelings and then you won't need to cope anymore and you won't need to SI.

ive talked about them before in therapy with different people but i feel like ive heard it all before. i know its a way of coping and release,a sort of comfort. ive tried drawing, painting, writing, walking, rubberbands, hair bobbins and loads more but i honestly cant replace this with anything else.its not just the pain, its everything about it.i wont get into details because this is triggering me and probably any others who are reading this..

Have you learned how to really deal with your feelings though (I'm not talking about coping)? Your list here are ways to cope after NOT dealing with your feelings and what is really going on.
