if you know something that triggers you. and its something you encounter everyday. and it causes you s/i. is there a way to make it not a trigger.

I honestly don't know. I know that with a lot of time of NO SI it will get less triggering. My best example is knives. For the first couple years without SI, I couldn't let myself use them (made cooking difficult) or scissors normally. Now I use them all the time and it's not bad, but every now and then I still have really really really bad days and then I don't touch them or staplers or basically anything.

I think it is possible. I think you can become more and more desensitized over time.

Talking in therapy about what is getting triggered up is the first step in diffusing the trigger. You also need to remind yourself every time that you get triggered that the past is getting triggered up and today is a different time and it isn't the past. Calming and soothing yourself with relaxation exercises and talking to (safe) people to ground yourself and doing other grounding exercises.
