I've seen ads for some kind of cream you can use on scars to minimize/eliminate them. You can buy it over the counter in drug stores. I don't know if it works, but it might be worth trying. |

Nope. I use skin tone cover up on my arm to hide the redness but it's still noticeable. Scar creams I've used make my biggest scar inflamed and swollen. I use cocoa butter and that seems to help the most.

I've heard that aloe can help to make scars less noticeable. Never tried it myself...
The scar creams can be pretty expensive, and have to be applied a LOT in order to supposedly work. Never worked for me |

Coacoa butter helps scars fade a little faster I've also heard. I usualy just wear long sleaves or a lot of braceletes.

I have scars too far up my arm to be covered with bracelets. I've tried it. and it gets pretty hot in TN during the summer, I can't always wear long sleeves/pants...

Hoping what I say doesn't piss anyone off. I have tried long sleeves and it gets hot in Canada too. I am at the point in my life that, they are a part of who I am. If people can't deal with it, that is their problem not mine.
It isn't easy walking out of the house having scars and fresh cuts on my arms. Yes people judge BUT they do not know me or what I have been or going through. It takes special people to understand and not judge, it takes someone really wanting to know who you are, that may ask questions politely to educate themselves. LoneWolfie |

I've seen really lightweight clearish arm sleaves made to look like tattoo sleeves. I've always wanted to try those.

If you wear these, I would suggest wearing wrist sweatbands or something so you can't see the end of it where you can see the seam. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grossman-SV7.../dp/B000V7E2FG I think I might try them out one day and see how they go.

I have a reputation for being kind of clumsy, and I have a blackberry bush in my yard. I just tell people I tripped into it. Again. No one's gotten suspicious yet, at least openly

mederma worked for me pretty well. also if you go into a high intensity taninng bed. (UVB ray) they will minimize the scars as well. its obviously not a fda approved method, but there have been studys and it helps.

Me too. And I own like 5 pair of arm/wrist warmers & fingerless gloves. I also keep my arms down and out of view. I had aprox 20 staples on the insides of both arms, so the scars are kinda obvious.

There are some videos on youtube about how to cover up more superficial scars with make up etc but to be honest i think your options are pretty limited - i personally always wear a hoodie or long sleeved shirt, as our weather is always pretty sucky this works for me. Other options are of course surgery to remove the scars or scar cream to help reduce the look of them over time. Hope ive been of some help.

The best way to hide scars is to not make them at all.

I found something some of you might be interested in. This was a study done in the UK though, but I'm sure it's available elsewhere.
You'd probably have to pay a high price for it to be done, because it's plastic surgery. WARNING, PICTURES ARE GRAPHIC AND VERY TRIGGERING. CLICK AT YOUR OWN RISK. The black looking skin isn't bad skin by the way, it's a wound VAC. It's clean sponge material, cut to the size of the wound, put on the wound and sealed down with this plastic sticky stuff. Then a little hole is cut, and then you attach a tube to it and suck out stuff basically, so the wound closes up properly, with minimum infection risk. http://www.eplasty.com/index.php?opt...=15&Itemid=116

If they're still red, make sure if they're exposed to light that you are wearing sunscreen.
Sunlight and scars are mortal enemies. If the scars are bumpy, that will never go away. You'll either have to get used to wearing shirts that cover them or to people looking. I've had scars on my arm for almost a decade and people still stare. |

I decided to just let people think what they will, and gave up on covering my scars. I wore a skirt for the first time in too long, lol
