Well I hadn't really hurt myself for a couple of years but the last couple of days things have felt so bad that I ended up scratching down my arm and I now have multiple wounds from elbow to wrist. Problem is if work find out due to my job I would not have contact renewed. Had to try really hard not to wince when someone gabbed my arm today. Don't know quite why I am posting here, never really admitted to this publicly but any one have any ideas for stopping? I just want the hurting inside to go away

((((((Willow)))))

Why would they not renew your contract if they knew you were doing that?

I've done exactly what you describe. I wonder if maybe just having something in your hand to hold onto would help? I mean, I should be one to talk, b/c I don't do that, but if you are holding something to fidget with, it may help?

Can you problem solve the hurt inside? Express it?

Thanks for your replies. Yes buy time I ought to try this but as we both know it is the pain I am craving but your right maybe I ought to try. And Sannah you too are right and I am working on this but it is taking longer than I thought and meanwhile the feelings are unbearable at times.
Do you think this is anything we ever can beat properly or if once we've done it it is a behaviour that is always there somewhere in the background ready to come back in times of extreme stress

I have overcome many, many things. I have never SI but I have grown exponentially in many areas. I believe that if you fix what is broken then you don't need to cope with SI anymore.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about a person's environment. If you are around dysfunctional people who distress you this is the first thing that needs to be remedied. Being in a healthy environment is so important to being able to function properly.
