Hey all, I use to be a cutter. My arms, chest and thighs show the tales. I have cut in awhile, but here lately with the new medication, I have been having a strong urge to cut again!! The urges become stronger and stronger each day. What are some techniques that you use to avoid cutting?

(Sorry I can't post links so this is going to sound stupid)
Look at "210 things to do instead of cutting" at Google. There's a great list out there! And these are the most important for me ![]()
Hope this helps! Lana & Allie

I have had stonger and stronger urges to cut! I don't know what to do! The breathing trick only works for so long. I don't want to cut, but I don't have any other coping skills. Worst part is, there isn't much in my life that is triggering it, I just have the urge to cut! Any suggestions?

My best advise is find some one to talk to until the urge goes away. If nothing is triggering it talk about anything that interests you. Read or write if you enjoy those things or what a movie you enjoy or play a game you want.
