I hate myself and I hate that I can't self harm anymore. Its all I want to do. I deserve it. I'm sick of feeling bad and stupid. My life sucks. Why do things have to be this way? Why was I even put on this earth? To suffer?, why me. Why me?

** Hugs.

I wish I had some deep, mystical words that would heal you - but I do not. Here is what I KNOW..... you are no worse than anyone else here. We all fall short of what is expected of us. There has only been one person who was flawless to walk on this planet - and neither you nor I can compare.

POINT BEING - I think you are being very hard on yourself. You do NOT deserve self harm. In your heart - you know that. You are just suffering on the inside so much and are crying out for someone to help you find a way of dealing with your pain.

You have a purpose. We all do.... but typically none of us know what the purpose is.

*Hugs
Thanks for this!

Hello MusicLover79-I can empathize with what you are feeling but I know that you are NOT bad or stupid. You feel bad and you feel stupid and that can make us believe that we are, therefore, those things. As Useless Me wrote, you do not deserve self-harm. You deserve love and compassion. I know that if feels as if our lot in life is to suffer and it can be so hard to find our bliss when we are in the middle of debilitating pain-but keep looking. It may be something that is right in front of you, your purpose, but you can't see it because the pain makes it hard to see clearly. You are not alone. No matter if you can see what your purpose is right now, you deserve to be here and you deserve to be treated with kindness.
Thanks for this!

Why do any of us, have to deal with these feelings of depression, want to self harm or find ourselves beleiving that we are the only ones. You are not the only one suffering, that is why we come to Psych Central not to cure us but to give a sense that we are not alone in our misery.

When I had breast cancer my husband was distraught and said to me "Why you" and "replied why not me". I'm no better than anyone else. It's not like deserved cancer but then no one does. It is like any other illness we wonder if we could have done something different; diabetic-could have watched you diet more; heart trouble could we have gotten more excerise. etc.

You are stronger than you think you are. You have power over your mind, at least to a point. You can try wish it away but you can't. But you can start by not calling yourself names. You are not bad or stupid. Those labels only make things worse. You are a worthwhile human being. We will learn patience each time we keep ourselves from selfharming. Wish you the best, because you deserve it.
