I am putting this here because even though the SI was unintentional (sort of -- more on that later), I have an urgent question and figure the folks here would know best:

(POSSIBLE TRIGGER, DESCRIPTION OF INJURY)
I stepped on a small drinking glass that I bought at a thrift store. It was (was...sigh) super cute, too. But I left it wrapped up and in a plastic bag.

Somehow it ended up on my bedroom floor, and I stepped on it. I felt that I stepped on something, but I didn't know what, and I just limped around for a couple minutes.

Then, I noticed that it looks like someone was murdered in here. please help ASAP I am on blood thinners and can bleed 10 minutes from a paper cut, so you can imagine what stepping on glass does.

How do you get blood (lots and lots of it) out of light colored carpet?

I am not a domestic goddess by any stretch, and when I cut purposely, it's on my arms where I can control it!

It's not deep enough to need stitches, but man, am I going to need some serious carpet cleaning.

As for it being accidental -- I'm not sure there are accidents when it comes to SI please help ASAP. I've been thinking about it lately, just kind of off-handedly, like "eh, haven't done it for awhile, maybe I should." Maybe this took care of it, I dunno.

Call me old fashion, but toothpaste gets a lot out. I'm not sure if it would work with blood ... but it's worth a try?

On the bottle of the carpet cleaners it lists what they work on. I think many of them get many different types of stains out now.

Most important how are you? It's scary to hear how much blood you must have lost. Take care of you.

I am still bleeding all over everything. I might need a trip to the ER after all. please help ASAP

I googled it and found peroxide (which I don't have on hand), shaving cream (which I am about out of) and cold water and salt work as well. I've tried two of the 3 to what appears to be little success.

Please take care of yourself first and get to the carpet later? If nothing else, elevation and ice should slow the bleeding, compression direct pressure too.

Blood needs an enzyme to break it down. Your own spit will break down your own blood, btw. But cold water, keep it moist while it waits for you, and one of those enzymatic cleaners should do it... or save up a lot of spit! please help ASAP

I just got back from the ER. I stopped at the all-night grocery store on the way back and picked up some Oxy Clean and other stuff. I'll deal with it later. I know it will be harder later, but I don't care, I just want to go to bed.

Oh, 5 stitches, btw. At least the dr. didn't make me feel like an idiot. I'm doing that fine by myself. please help ASAP

Dont be so hard on yourself, accidents happen, and at least you got yourself taken care of. Rest up, the stain will wait for you.

take care

I'm really glad that you went to the ER. Try and get some rest and like Lily said, don't be too hard on yourself. It's going to be OK.

Well, I got my stitches out tonight, and it turns out what I thought was a bruise (since I'm on blood thinners, I bruise really, really easily) is cellulitis. please help ASAP Which is going to require a call to my hematologist to make sure my white count isn't in the crapper, as it was the last time I had cellulitis. Today was the anniversary of the end of my first of my 5 weeks in the hospital in 05-06, critically ill with bone marrow failure that my a-hole primary care guy missed completely.

Which is kicking up my PTSD.

Which is not making me happy. please help ASAP please help ASAP please help ASAP
