the scars on my arm are pretty noticable... i mean enough that i'm self conscious about warm weather and short sleeves. is there anything you can buy to put on your scars to make them not as obvious? what do i tell people when they ask what they are? they are too "neat" to be accidental. hm.. any suggestions?

you could always wear a tang top with a gauzy long sleeved over blouse.
you could tell them it's none of their business
you could put vitamine e oil on them which helps with scarring some
you could look at them mysteriously and say "I could tell you, but i'd have to kill you" in a NYC mob accent.
you could call it decorative body art - if they are lines you could say it's representational art.

good ideas kiya!
krazibean, unfortunately I have not found a solution to making my scars less obvious. I tend to wear long sleeved tops (as light as possible). We are just coming out of summer now, and it has been so hot that I ended up having to wear shorter sleeved tops. What surprised me is that no-one at all asked about the scars, and there are plenty of them. When I went swimming in the ocean I wore a long-sleeved 'gauzy' top, and in the local pool I wore a top that hid the worst scars. Only when I have been on my own have I rolled up my sleeves all the way and gotten some sun! In the odd instance when someone has asked me what happened, I have shrugged it off and said 'just an accident' or similar. I hope that you can find a solution that works for you this summer. (Oh, and as I had to have a mole removed a month before summer I also used that as an excuse to cover up...the risk of skin cancer...)

i find that they are less noticeable if i keep sunscreen on them and stay out of the sun... they also sell some scar cream at the pharmacy that they say heals old scars...don't know how well it works... i am lucky...mine don't show too much... when someone asks me i simply say oh that ...i hurt myself... it usually doesn't go any further...lyn
