Kaiori, you should look at the urge surfing thread that is here in the SI forum, it's at the very top and it is very effective.

Hi Kaiori, are you in therapy? What I have learned from others who SI is that they do it because they have all of these unbearable feelings bottled up which they do not know how to deal with or how to release them. I would suggest starting there? And congrats on not cutting. Do you know how you managed to do that?

Defenitly having someone to talk to can make all the difference, whether a therapist, friend, or family member -- someone you can just spill to.
A lot of times finding constructive activities can help a lot too. And for some people writing or drawing can help. Best of luck! |

Hey I've been there. I used to cut but I still get the horrible urge. I still picture myself doing it but I haven't done it in about 2 months now. I first started cutting my wrists and people started giving me weird looks so I cut every other hidden part of my body from my back, to my stomach, to the back part of my foot where that weird stringy-feeling thing is at. I still think about it but it's just a slow process. It's normal to relapse (I've relapsed over 5 times now) but it just takes time and determination.
